War Thunder.
Universally better than World of Tanks, and the minimum specs are still potato-grade.

That's debatable, AND I wasn't able to run it on the laptop I mentioned before, at least the tanks part... kept crashing. My old PC was an office PC from around 2004, and it could run War Thunder on minimum settings. It wasn't until the hard-drive died that I got my current GL 551
Though I remember mixed battles weren't compatible with the minimum settings, only air battles. Still very low minimum specs.
As far as the difference between the 2 games, War Thunder is far more realistic, and allows mixing between vehicle types, if that's something you like, like me. Though the navy isn't in the main game yet- I participated in the first test for it, which was last weekend. So the naval closed beta will start pretty soon.

I'll add that War Thunder sortof has Dust's system where deaths matter.
Every vehicle but the starting ones has a repair cost, as well as 10 free instant-repairs. If auto-repair is turned off (which I suggest to avoid losing all of your money), you'll either have to pay for the repair, or wait for the free repair timer to finish before you can take that vehicle into another battle.
So, if you don't want to lose all of your money or wait through a timer to use your vehicle of choice again, you'll have to be careful to keep it in 1 piece. That's why, when I'm in a plane and I know my team is ******, I just fly back to the airfield while I'm still in tact, land, and leave the battle without losing my plane. Most people don't know that's a thing.

Yeah War Thunder is so damn realistic a single RNG shot to your pilot's head kills your entire plane in a frontal confrontation, not to mention the numerous times I killed the insane amount of panzer II's in one shot with a 40mm gun... Too f*cking realistic, even though guns are far more accurate at range than in World of Tanks, WoT is more arcade-like and generally a lot easier and more fun to play than War Thunder... far more fast-paced too. Battles last only about 7-10 minutes usually, while in War Thunder, arcade battles can stretch out to half a goddamn hour, and simulator battles go up to an hour or more. F*ck that, ain't got time for that, I got a life to live. If you fly a head-on, you better be prepared to die, because it's an extremely stupid maneuver. Even if you do shoot down the enemy plane, you can still catch a chunk of their plane and go down with them.
As for battle time- I play almost exclusively in realistic, and battles tend to average around 20 minutes.
