It doesn't really matter, you didn't buy the game, so its not affecting anything.

Aurum will be refunded to you after a character wipe, so nothing lost.

This is a closed beta, they are ironing out things for launch. If you think they are shafting you for some reason then don't download the real client and play. There is no false advertising here, you must be used to software companies like Blizzard (and I feel ya).

Maybe that stuff actually is in the client, they're just not letting you access it. Did you even think it's possible CCP is doing targeted testing? Only letting you do certain things so you can, I don't know, work out the bugs. Just because it's not available THIS INSTANT doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Calm down, it's just a beta.

I can understand that, but I don't think they ever promised to do anything. The Orbital Strike they showed at EVE fanfest was, I think, a "look what we can do" thing. They wanted players to know they have it figured out and can do it.

Not only that, but it was, I think, the first time a PC platform game had influenced a Console game. It didn't sell me on game as I was already going to play it (free!), but it did blow my mind seeing it.

This game has SOOO much potential, hard to recall any game I've played (MMOs or FPS) that has an upside like this one.

Maybe you should stop running around treating closed betas like demos and actually worry about things like giving feedback on weapon balance?

Granted most betas today are marketing slang for demo. But CCP seems to be listening to us.

Come on man.....have some patience. The "Beta" that you are playing is and never will be put to video for the general public...including us....too see. Read the NDA. Only if one of....US.....the beta testers puts it out there, which is violating the NDA. What you are playing is the "BETA" not the "GAME"......so for you to accuse CCP of false advertisment is wrong of you to do, because they have never advertised the "BETA".

The game will have everything that you have seen in the videos, but not until the "GAME" is released.

They havn't broken any promises because this is no "the actual game" this is a compartmentalized test client. You dont test a full featured game has a beta...thats what a demo is called.

Having paid for a free to play game is the gaming worlds equivalent of buying a bridge in Brooklyn.

I'm sure its possible your mother purchased a promotional package of digital goods that can be used in this game though.


You are entering a very big community with a long history of praying on simple folk. And its encouraged by the developers. You need to work on a few things if you hope to survive.

I suspect, Super Mido, people are angry at you for your hyper aggressive tone more than anything else. The internet may grant you anonymity, but that does not entitle you to this type of behavior without consequence.

They are compartmentalized betas. We are probably testing the stuff that the internal CCP testing team has tested to the point where it needs to go out to a much large group for balance and stability testing.

CCP has a very long history of making trailers with ingame footage. They usually mean in engine when it comes to eve. But I have no doubts that their is a testing group working on integration features and if the video guy for dust is anything like the one othat does the eve videos he blocked and planned out the trailer based on things he saw happen while testing.

You have nothing to complain about. Your concerns have been met with answers from people with varying degrees of background. Im sure a dev or gm will weigh in when someone who is qualified sees the thread.
