So mostly baseless assumptions favoring sensationalist speculation presented as fact, as expected.
As someone who has actually played Gunjack extensively, its very apparently that it did NOT take a lot of resources to put together that game. It is will put together but ultimately not very expansive or complicated...clearly something that a small team (<10) could put together if they're decently versed in Unreal 4.
That being said, if you actually look into the size and finances of CCP Shanghai as well as the testimonials of individuals both inside and outside of CCP, the capacity of Shanghai far exceeds the production requirements needed to produce and support Gunjack and Gunjack 2.
That being said, your statement that most of CCP Shanghai's resources were being spent on producing Gunjack and not Nova is not only baseless, but blatantly incorrect. The additional capacity of Shanghai beyond Gunjack is not simply sitting on their thumbs, and given that the only other announced project they have is Nova, it stands to reason that most of the remaining resources are being spent on said project.
Additionally the return of CCP LogicLoop who has been actively working, sharing, and talking about his work on Nova is indicative that CCP has placed additional resources into the game beyond the tech demo we saw at Fanfest 2016 which would only happen if the game had been green-lit for ongoing production. Additionally multiple members of the CPM and CCP have openly confirmed via various mediums that the game is in active development.
There was never a guarantee that there would be an announcement if the game was given the go-ahead, but literally anyone actually paying attention enough to see the writing on the wall knows that the game is in active and extensive production.
That being said, your random estimate that we wont see anything before end of next year is again, baseless. There is zero evidence to support that timeline nor does it make logical sense. As shown at Fanfest 2016, CCP is doubling down on the principle of showing off new material at FanFest and given how PR campaigns tends to work, its highly likely that they will be showing off additional information at the convention. That is be far the most logical time for them to show off new footage as it is a gathering of their primary target audience, especially after a full 1 year of production time.

No insider information. I just don't let the saltiness cloud my judgement and I listen to what people who DO have insider information either because they're devs or CPM under NDA. Also Logic.

CCP LogicLoop wrote:Actually developing for VR and Mobile is not as easy as you think. To pull off some of the visuals takes a lot of know how and trickery. It's actually a pretty amazing looking game imo for a VR game. The hardware is limiting in general and you need to make smaller graphics and slimmer shaders look good. It's a very interesting balancing act.
Still doing my Nova maps. ;)
Please don't let my comments imply that I think the work is "easy" by any means. I certainty am not capable of developing a VR game and Im certain there is a good amount of skill involved in developing one. Either way, "Required Skill" does not equate to "Need to use most of the manpower of an entire game studio to pull it off".

I am not at liberty to discuss employee head count. =( Can you discuss what the maps look like? Maybe with pictures? Need to learn dem mapz. Not at this time. Trust me, I am excited to show off the work as much as you guys are to see stuff. However, we have plans. Stick to those plans to make a good solid game. Then in due time, we can share.
In other words, you're aware that the community is going to be hyper critical of anything you release, so you're making damn sure it is of the highest quality before it is subject to that criticism.

And of course don't forget Citadels which are stupid large. I'd love to fight in a big plaza style setting inside a Citadel. It would really give the Art and Map team a chance to really show off.

Imagine having a fight in an Astrahus set up to have ships flying through the hangar ports during the fight so you can see them entering and exiting.
And while I don't think Citadels have a specified race, the interiors could certainly be thematically changed to show off different races/factions. Even if it's something as simple as banners hanging from the walls being changed

That's not what I said at all. We have a plan is what I said. Stick to the plan. We have a process for doing things here. =) And this is why it is safer for the poor guy to post in threads that say " - ". Such threads don't lead to difficult questions that forces him to walk that fine line of not breaking NDA while not pissing off the good people of the forum who he knows are on edge from months and months of suspense. I thankful that he is able to tell us that he is working on Nova maps, because at least that tells us that Nova is actively being worked on.
I wasn't trying to put the guy on the spot :(
