One day I was playing with my wife and two Brits friends of hers. I've never played with them before but they seem like good chaps. Anyway, we where at the map where it has that milk carton looking socket in the middle. There is no other structure around it so, whomever captured it first pretty much had a guaranteed to win it since everthing else around it was open space. This is exactly what happened. The red berries took up the milk carton quickly and proceeded to proto stump our side. It was a masacre and we were getting redlined with no hope of recovery. The mcc shields was all but gone and the blue berries stopped trying.
One of the brits who was the squad lead called to leave battle or simply stop spawning since there was no point. I said NO!! the CL doesn't give up that easily. I refuse to lose. I then told my wife to come with me to outflank the enemy from the left side which was the least defended. We made it to the objective unnoticed. I then placed links while my wife hacked the letter. I then told the squad lead to load up the orbital strike cause it was going to get ugly soon but, to wait for the call. I told him to aim left of the objective. He said, sure why not.
A few of the reds noticed the letter changed and decided they'll have none of that. They wanted total domination. However, my wife had brought her rail rifle and kept most of them out of range. I then picked on the few straglers that manage to make close enough. By this time the blueberries had notice that the objective had stayed blue for a while and they started to spawn on my links. The reds seeing that we have shifted our position decided to retake the objective but they where too far to simply walk right in. They met a lot of resistance but, since they where all proto they were braking through our libes. That is when I called the orbital. BOOM BOOM BOOM. We clreared their advance and they had to start over at their mcc. They kept sending wave after wave but, we had the stronger position. Since they where loosing too many suits they stopped using proto gear which took out their advantage. They where no longer able to retake the objective and their mcc was blown out of that solar system. It was a glorious battle. |

You probably spawned on one of my many uplinks and then got repped. Two things that seems to me most didn't bother to spent sp in.
Also, was hoping others would share their stories. |

I also remembered on various ocasions where scotty decided to make incompletes teams as in 9 vs 10. Ofcourse, the other team is always better equiped. We always seem to get matched with newbs on our side and pros with tanks, dropships, heck even boats with cruise misiles on the other. There was no way we could out muscle the reds but we could outsmart them. Our then ceo blawer would go around hacking an objective and leaving a spawnpoint behind. The rest of us would defend that objective as much as we could. The enemy would be too strong so we ended up loosing the letter but, by then blawer had already captured the next one. We simply switch there and recycled the strategy. Because the teams where incomplete and their focus was on killing they just followed us arouns the map in circles. This made them think they were winning and they were clone wise but, not mcc wise because we where always 1 objective ahead. By the time they overtook the one we were defending the next one has already turned. This is what I loved about Dust. Strategy mattered. |
