Heck even you nay-sayers would STILL be playing if it were still up. Why else would you STILL be on a "dead game"'s forum?

Actually no I wouldn't. I'm on these forums because while the community is literally made of salt, I've grown attached to them. Not everyone is on Skype/Discord and I still like to banter back and forth with them (DUST Fiend is a perfect example, you lovable ****) so the forums are a good medium for that.

As for the game itself, I prefer to spend my time on games that actually run properly....novel idea I know.

I'm a Salt Elemental that's NE and can only be summoned with Summon Monster IIX or greater.

I have 32 D12 HP and five basic attacks per round, though I have a 75% chance to fall asleep or scream random obscenities into the night.

I'm CR 51 and enjoy short walks to the fridge.

Pokey, logic dictates that because you have grown accustomed to a boring Forum, (and forums, ALL forums are boring compared to an actual video-game) that you would play Dust itself, for nothing else than to enjoy the salt of hate-mail generated from stomping enemies. The analogy is sound for a collector and anyone else blessed to happen upon a 60's Pinto. Your comprehension of it is weak. A pinto represents "vintage" classic run of the mill cars at it's finest, these cars are generally jam-packed with so much love and money they are rather to be parked in a living room than see a street. My analogy was based on life exp. We had a choice pay a deductible at a rental shop, or putt around in the dealers replacement for free. It even had a full tank of gas. Corvette's are an expensive car to maintain, filling ours costs us more than the 50 dollar deductible. So of coarse we took the freebee. (We later bought that little bugger for pennies, had the original engine drained, mounted in the garage, and "Monster"ed the chassis. Call us when Solar can put out 550hp and doesn't cost as much as a B2 to apply practically. I hear y'all are getting closer.)

Monster'ed or not, 99.8 people would GLADLY accept something totally free while they wait for the main coarse. Especially people who lost money with the closing. IMO, the Dust servers should still be online. Or at least until the end of 2016. For a few simple reasons.

1) It was free-to-play. Easy for new players to join each day & that was exactly what was happening.

2) The 2k or so hardcore fans. They were the reason for any success the game had. They deserved to be left with a game to play until Nova. Which brings me to....

3) Nova has not been greenlit. All we have seen is a demo. If it gets canned, then the loyal fans are left with no game at all. It would surely have made more sense to confirm Nova is definitely going to be released & allow everyone to continue playing Dust until nearer to Novas launch.

For me, I liked Dust. It was a decent game. Especially as it was free. But life & gaming life goes on. I am currently trying to clear a massive backlog of games in my collection. But without Dust, my interest in Nova fades each day. I have only logged into the forums in the past week or so again to see if there are any further developments. Alas there are none. So this could be one of many loyal Dusters who won't be around in Nova due to no longer having any interest in the game.

Hey there, Clone D! It has been too long. I miss our team-ups too. I even miss those cat and mouse games of "Pin the missiles on the tank" and "Hide the Ion round on your person" we subjected each other to. Here is praying they sigh flip the lights back on and say: "FINE!!! HERE!!! NOW STOP CRYING AT US!!!!"

Isn't the right order 1. release a new game, 2. retire old game.

EXACTLY, anything less is missing money.
