CCP you need to change the kill system to whoever does the most damage not last bullet. I'm tired of doing 95% of the damage to an enemy just to have a teammate put one bullet into the guy and get the kill. The kill should go to whoever did most damage until their shield or armor starts recharging. If multiple teammates do the same amount of damage then give it to the last bullet. Your thoughts? |

Strangely, I disagree as tracking kills the way they are doing it now and the way you are asking for favors solo play. Personally, I wouldn't have any problems at all of they removed the K/D info completely and just focused on team victory / defeat.
Please keep in mind that Dust is not really an FPS, instead if is an MMORPG with the combat aspects of a FPS. This means that there will be a lot more focus on non-K/D components activities.

If you got 90% of the points for doing 95% of the damage but not the kill-shot, and they still got 1 kill on the scoreboard - would that be fine?
Getting the last shot is relevant in many circumstances, and is worthy of a small reward (5-10 point bonus), but there should be a difference between doing 5% damage (currently 25 point assist, 50 point kill) and doing 95% damage (currently 25 point assist, 50 point kill)
So what I'm wondering is, do you just want the points as an acknowledgement of your contribution, or is the (meaningless imo) K/D ratio what's important here.
I think the reward should be 60-70 points split based on damage dealt, and 5-10 bonus for the killing shot. |

This is an MMOFPS not an MMORPG the FPS aspect is as important as the MMO part. |

A true FPS has no affect on the game universe outside of the one battle you are in. But Dust is different, every action your character takes will have an affect the entire "universe"... Your character has a name and a history... Wether you choose to play that or not is immaterial, the fact is your character does have a history, you chose it when you created the character.

I'd appreciate more of a kill assist point gain for more damage done to target. Similar to BF3.
Kill shot gets 50 Pts Entity that did 95% gets 45Pts
or whatever..
It would make me feel more reassured that i was not stealing kills from my teammates. As a logistic dropsuit user it is not my goal to get kills but to overall support my allies and their endevours. I feel less eager to help support them in taking out an enemy because I would not like to "steal" their kill. |
