I played BF4 today and I actually enjoyed it. I've finally started to get good and understand it, after having the game for nearly two years. I must have racked up 300 kills in one night. I even had a 44 kill game! It's not DUST, but it's something that goes pew pew. The main thing though is that I'm actually enjoying gaming again! I even ran into Yuuki Terumi, though he didn't take my squad invite.
I think BF4 will be my go to game from now on. At least until I move on from the PS3.

Bethesda titles on PC as well as Dark Souls 3.
On PS3, I've recently started playing Fat Princess and I still play a little bit of Minecraft on it when no one is looking.
On Vita, Rayman and Persona when I'm on some long train ride or something.
I'm mostly drawing a comic to publish with Dark Horse soon, though.

Epic Games studio develops remake of Unreal Turnament - 15 years old game. I think it is on open-alfa right now(content is subject to change, and not all of textures are ingame). When game launch it will be free to play, except some extended version with game editor for with on players will have to pay(but they will be able to make virtuall items in it, and sell them to other players). Of curse game is being made on same engine as Project Nova, so while playing it you may have some expectations towerds Nova. What I like about it at most so far is low requirements, and all that weapons that I was using ages ago, like Reedimier, Flack Cannon etc.

Miss chasing down Jehuty / Frost Kitty with 2% health left underneath the bridge & watching them disappear right before my eyes lol . In all honesty , Dust514 had some of the best FPS players all around . Though , some were cheating turbo controller user's , i got passed that by tactics alone . Miss Dust514 ( The Withdrawal is real lol )

BF4 is so much more balanced than DUST, there's no going 35/0 in BF4. It makes me realise how unbalanced DUST really was. I think a big reason why I enjoyed DUST so much was that I enjoyed the feeling of being invincible, of being able to stomp newbs who had no chance of fighting back, and looking at big numbers and K/D's.
I have a faint feeling that I've misinterpreted what you said though, so please do correct me if I'm wrong.

I have a faint feeling that I've misinterpreted what you said though, so please do correct me if I'm wrong. . "Feel the force , be one with the force . Your feelings betray you young one" lol . I was actually talking about BF4 . Maybe its just me , but i found dust514 hard to play with all the issues it had at 1st . I found myself literally having to adjust my whole game style time after time because it was so different & all the hot fixes it did on its mechanics ( changing speeds / kick on guns / dmg output etc ) . After some time i finally got good & gained adaptability etc etc . Now , when Dust514 shutdown its server's on my birthday ( those fukers ) . I got on BF4 & noticed quickly, as you stated - "balanced" . No hiccups , No running in sand glitch , No indestructible freaking scouts etc etc lol after a few matches i began to pick up on the patterns & began to pew pew pew for a good while enjoying my 25/7 , 36/10 , 32/8 & it got Blaam & left a stale taste in my soul . I work better in chaos & i guess im not a big fan of predictability . So after feeling out the maps & habits of the community on BF4 , it became a easy habit of racking up 30+ each time with the squad. Im sure you'll notice it soon as well . Anyone thats played Dust514 and actually became a above avg player with all the chaos in the game will be a GOD in any other FPS lol . You'll notice it soon , you'll start racking up 50 burger kills & think back to Dust514 & remember that , that only happened once a while .

Passively putting away in EvE without any sense of purpose. That may not last much longer. From time to time I'll boot up Red Dead Redemption just to ride around and shoot things. Waiting for the NES mini to come out. Honestly at my age, that may be the last system I buy. I'll just get lost in Metroid and Zelda, then one day die. NOVA probably won't be out by then anyway.

I recommend you to try Metal Gear Solid V : The Phantom Pain. It's a game with some similarities to Dust, since both are set in an alternative Sci-Fi reality. The game also supports many diffrent playstyles. You can either sneak your way through missions or go Rambo by killing everything that moves with Rocketlaunchers and the Flamethrowing Robot. The Story is not as good as in previos titels, but it still fulfills it's main intension to encourage you to think about current world issues and the future of the world. After all I can say that it's a good and very enjoyable game.

Literally my favorite PS1 game of all time. The first was great but hot **** they nailed the sequel perfectly. Damn I miss that game something fierce. It has been on a list of great games many times, and I had played Suikoden III and liked it. I saw it was on sale months ago and got it.
Been trying to get through a gaming back log, and finally got to it.
The game took awhile to get used to, mainly from the standpoint of being a PS1 game, but after a few hours I have acclimated, and am really enjoying it. Parts of it haven't aged well, but compared to many other older games I have played, it is still standing strong. Thankfully, it is not one of the JRPGs that really force you to grind (which is what I have the hardest time with when playing classic games).
One thing that is funny to see is how incredibly story driven it is, which I think is reflected in the games of the time. Too much emphasis is on graphics, environment size, and multiplayer etc, and too many modern games lose the narrative as a result (Fallout 4, Destiny et al).
Glad to be playing a game that gets it right, even if it is old as hell.

I really like FFVII, but I don't know that the FF games have aged as well (maybe Tactics, which I still need to play). I think that FFVII was important for its time, in graphics, soundtrack, and emotional story telling. Plus, I remember that it's language was more corse than anything else at that time had been.
I really hope that the remake holds to the standard, but I doubt it given SquareEnix's track record. The latest Star Ocean got poor reviews, and Star Ocean II was another favorite game of mine from that era.
PS1 had tons of great games. But maybe that is also because we hype up games to a level that they can't possibly expect to live up to.

Yeah, thats right. The game had its highest possible quality at that Time on its platform but was easily exceeded in every aspect of its technical standards by Games wich were just released just some Years later (for example Digimon World 1)
And yes, at that time there was no such thing as hype. Only the games that were good enough were liked by all players equally.

Can you believe it! The Dust forums still live and people still use them!
I've been playing a lot of Skyrim on PC - Forgot just how much time I can lose in that game. As well as Gran Turismo 6 now I have managed to get the track making app work on my PC! Hell yes
Severly missing / lacking any sort of FPS gaming right now though as there is nothing out that gives me the same satisfaction and emotional roller-coaster ride that was DUST 514.
Oh and I found a Sega Megadrive (Genesis) emulator that literally streams off a webpage almost any game and it works!
Messing about on Super Monaco GP, Sonic the Hedgehog and Streets of Rage sure takes me back. Nostalgia bomb.
This is the turning point, the rising of the tide.

^been a long while since I've played a decent emu. I remember obsessing over Dune. I never had that on the system. Hell, I never knew it existed until I found it though the emu. Timeless. I spent a LOT of time in Flashback and Phantasy Star 2 on the console. Sadly, when I made it to the end boss my stats weren't good enough yet. Then later my controller went out. Then my cartridge memory died. I just couldn't start over =\ I also really loved Final Battle. The characters were HUGE and I remember playing it pretending I was Jean-Claude Van Damme from the movie Cyborg.
