Yep, I feel the withdrawal too. 58 years, and I was addicted to the game, after less than a year of actually playing it. I so missed out on everything that happened between the Beta and then, and wish I'd kept playing right from the start.
For me it's about the wanting to log in, realising for the umpteenth time that I can't, and the now fading pang of missing it. I should have weened myself off it when we first heard it was shutting down, and CCP probably thought people would do that. Some did, but in ever greater numbers, some actually came back to the game or joined up for the first time, just to experience it before it was canned.
My last battle finished only minutes before DT on the day it died. I was actually queued for deployment in the vain hope I'd be in battle one last time when it did, but was disconnected before I actually deployed. The feeling of elation that I was going to be in one last battle was abruptly replaced by one of tragic loss as I repeated hit OK to reconnect and failed.
Roll on Nova! Let us hope it does turn out to be a PC based Dust, but on PC capable of being so much more, and then finally the link to EvE that was supposed to be right at the very beginning. I'd love to be able to transport mercs in my ships like we were supposed to be able to do in the first place.
I keep dreaming of what could/can/will be in place of going into battle one last time with you lot. :) |

Yes, i didnt know the difference between a Null Cannon and a rail one... :)
And how can i forget my last action in battle just a few seconds before ending of battle, when i have destroyed a c.v0 tank with my kubo plc and a Lai Dai grenade??
Between these 2 moments, 30 months of battles, friendship, joy and hungryness.
Now, im trying to play other games, but it's not easy to replace dust 514....
Apparently you used to be able to add to the damage on the enemy MCC but they nerfed that. Made sense to me that any damage is real damage. Why shouldn't an installation be able to help? |
