That will never happen. Come on guys, it's one thing to hope but really? How would they carry character data over if they aren't even adding vehicles? What happens to pilots and AV? The reason they won't unlock SP is probably because it takes some coding and staff, neither of which CCP is going to commit to when the game has a month left to live. No vehicles? Where's the source on that? Well thanks to CCPs lack of info there is no definitive confirmation, though the interviews thus far show a focus on smaller maps and FPS gameplay only. There's a good chance vehicles will not be in the game upon release.
Actually there is confirmation of no vehicles on release.

About half way down the page with source quote linked.

I dunno man...as a pilot myself, even I'll admit that vehicles were totally FUBAR in the grand scheme of things.
If they can't get it right on release, I"d rather they just take their time and get it right later.

That's motivation to fix them, not axe them. Then again, it seems like CCPs answer to things that are too difficult. Just remove them from the game and say that they might get added back in once they're fixed.
Well edited my quote, but see above.

DUST Fiend wrote:Yea, I don't trust CCP to get it right later. If you don't build the game around having vehicles in it, then you create a game just for infantry, and it becomes even HARDER to balance them at that point.
Guess we'll just have to see, but I predict vehicle power ups at best, kind of like SW Battlefront.
I agree though Im starting to feel that trying to make a system where they work in all situations just isn't going to happen. I'm thinking adding game modes later that give a distinctive purpose for vehicles within that game mode would make their existence far more enjoyable for everyone involved.

I don't trust CCPs ability to make it happen in anything other than a casual lobby shooter setting, but I could certainly be wrong. Everything is speculation right now, I'm just curious how they intend to stack up to their competition when they're basically just making generic shooter 514 at the moment. I guess I was hoping that moving to PC would be CCPs chance to turn over a new leaf and give this game proper funding and a reasonable sized dev team. Instead they're just keeping it as a side project with seemingly similar resources. A proper sized team and funding would allow for a significantly more complex and in depth game, but instead it seems we're getting good enough for cash grab with the promise of a brighter future. Kind of deja vu-y
Yes, much is to be seen but all we can really do is sit and wait. And to be fair and completely honest, I think Rattati is very capable of getting his head around the gunplay, but really struggles with vehicles. To really pull it off we would need a proper focus group to discuss large design choices about vehicles, but in the meantime Rattati needs to get the game off the ground so I'm content to let him do what he's good at to make that happen.
