What was displayed in the demonstration were six presets that to some degree followed the existing dropsuit roles while showing off some new aspects of the game such as the 'Thunderbolt Precision Rifle', Jump Jets, etc. As I understand it they want to keep dropsuit fitting more or less as it, perhaps some simplifications here and there, and otherwise add other forms of modification to things like weapons. Rattati mentioned in passing that scopes would be idea but also things like underslung grenade launchers if they are possible, High Capacity Magazines, and even Damage Profile Modifiers.
As long as they incentivize proper racial play I'll be happy.
I'm a gallente damnit. I should be the best with hybrid weapons whether it's a rail or ar.
I don't want to see them say pick whatever you want and get rid of racial weapon bonuses otherwise there's no point of having racial suits.
lasers should be encouraged on amarr, hybrids to gal and cal, and projectiles to minmatar.
If you want to mix and match you don't get bonuses, if you want maximum performance use the proper weapons tied to your suits race.
Don't vote for iron wolf saber.
Vote for someone who will help the community i.e. anyone else.

Yes they were, just like how weapons are tied to ships in eve unless you get a weapon neutral ship like a myrmidon which can use any weapons equally well because it doesn't get turret bonuses. It does drones so you can put lasers or auto cannons on it with no penaltys.

No they weren't. Each suit offered bonuses logical to the empire producing the dropsuit. Only assaults and Commando's gained weapon specific bonuses and even then you never were forced to use a weapon on any type of dropsuit.
You opted instead to use those weapons in a 'sub optimal' manner on those dropsuits.
