I am not super confident tho.
They apparently have a playable version at fanfest but it took Valkyrie a year to go from that stage to alpha.
Also Hilmar was not very confident when he said we want to make it free to play as if no monetization is in place yet. |

Kind of sad they did not show some quick game footage for the stream. |

Also Hilmar was not very confident when he said we want to make it free to play as if no monetization is in place yet. valkyrie was a side project from a few devs at ccp whipped up in a short amount of time, this had the shangai studio on it for what... 6 months so far? at least?
The fact that there was no confidence in the monetization statement is what scares me the most.
Hopefully now CPM and Devs can give us some better details here. |

Aikuchi Tomaru wrote:Really a let down. Didn't they say they'll have more at Fanfest? They just confirmed what many suspected anyways (it being F2P like Dust) and gave us the Project name... multiplayer booth for people at fanfest is nice and all... but why not let Dust veterans instantly in on the fun, if they have a Alpha ready and playable and are looking for feedback anyways.
I feel like it not being available as an alpha by the time Dust shuts down would be a huge failure on their part. |

No footage released.
Rerun of the info given will be live on twitch whenever they shut down the stream to archive (so most likely later this afternoon) |

They just confirmed on stream that they are dialing back/removing the MMO elements.
It's over, guys. And instead we get maps in Space for Eve focus... CCP, what you doing?! You were supposed to focus on the MMO part, not kill it! but the focus of Dust from its very inception was to be a part of the even universe? and people wanted most to be able to board ships, they still do
That seems to be all gone. Maybe the lobby shooter will at least include an on ship map.
I guess star citizen will be the only one that delivers anything close to what we all wanted. |

Lets not forget how much they enjoyed the benefits of having a pay wall in Dust.
Lobby shooter + pay wall + "less" mmo aspects.
I want to throw up. |

The ultimate **** you Dust 514 fans from our good friends at CCP.
Hate being right.
The social aspect created by the little bit of MMO we had in Dust was what kept the game alive and kept the cash grabs going. If they are really throwing that out its game over and this will not even be worth trying out. |

So far I am agreeding with their decisions but of course I hope more mmo immersion later on. Planet building etc and free roaming pve salvaging you know what I mean. No, that's just not reasonable. The MMO stuff is too fundamental to the game to be added later. All this is, is a demo of the gameplay, if they want to add MMO, they'll have to rebuild it.
Totally agree.
You don't just toss in a few mechanics and turn a lobby shooter into a MMO. |

But its simple if this game doesn't deliver we play star citizen. But let me agreed on 1 thing in all those years this is little weak.
At this point I am imagining something like a Blacklight Retribution clone. I have a feeling it will be packed with more of the same pay wall BS that was the warbarge in Dust but I am honestly trying to reserve judgement (unsuccessfully) |

Regis Blackbird wrote:Although I got a bitter taste with the "less MMO" part, I will hold on with my judgment until we get more info.
For me, what drew me to Dust was the connection to EVE... To be part of something bigger... The meta game of New Exen.
Fighting in corridors could just be a warehouse as much as a spaceship. You just don't know unless you somehow got there via a ship, right? I sincerely hope they meant the focus "right now" was less MMO (to get the FPS up to par), in case I fully support them.
It will be extremely hard to add the MMO connection on later, if it's not part of the overall plan right now.
For me its the combination of "less MMO" and "less skill tree" that really bums me out.

While the future isn't 100% certain, remember that no one the community actually played "Legion." Everyone here can (and some already have:) played Nova. If the game is playable, CCP should already make the demo available for Dust Veterans. Not Fanfest only. They want feedback after all, right? The most obvious feedback they are already getting: Don't turn back on the MMO stuff, but expand on it. Th ebiggest problem the community currently has is not, that Nova is currently in such a basic state, but that, apparently, CCP is only aiming for this and nothing more.
I highly doubt most of us have a PC that could run it in the very unoptimized state that it is most likely in. Hopefully someone at fanfest is able to answer my thread requesting info on what the PCs which the demos are running on look like to try to get an idea if an alpha release would even be viable any time soon. |

If the Oculus launch had not gotten so botched I would be able to run it right now but I decided to hold off and wait for all the new graphics cards coming out since getting an Oculus any time soon seems to be off the table. |
