So with Fanfest around the corner, I thought I would share my personal predictions for "not-legion" and my reasoning why
1) The four different races will be dropped for a single faction.
We will no longer be able to select from the four different races, instead we will all be members of a single mercenary faction. Having four races means that every time they introduce a new vehicle, suit or whatever, that they need to introduce an equivalent for each race. Given that we never saw the all the racial variants for the vehicles and buildings, I think that CCP has decided that this is too expensive in developer hours, hence only one race will be available for us to pick from.
2) The EVE-style character development will be dropped.
The current implementation of skills in Dust requires too much grinding. It will be dropped for something a bit more friendly to the casual gamer.
3) The EVE-Not legion connection will be dropped.
I dearly hope I'm wrong. But given the lackluster EVE-Dust connection I think this will continue. Dear god I hop that the chat system remains.
4) CCP will play it safe in terms of design. Expect a Call of Duty in space game.
I really, really, really, hope I am wrong. I would love for CCP to do something new and innovative. I want them to push the boundaries. It's why I played EVE in the first place. I would love not-legion to be a game full of procedurally generated planets for us to conquer and exploit. I would love it to be a worthy competitor to upcoming games like star citizen and the fps portion of Elite dangerous. CCP has the advantage with the fascinating universe they have created and the opportunities it presents, but for some reason I feel that they will play it safe.
I want to be proven wrong.
5) We will get a nice skin that allows us to have "I played Dust" plastered across our foreheads.
6) There will be no social areas. The door will never open. We will have a personal quarters that we can walk around and .. um .. walk around....
Ok so this was a bit less positive than I expected.
Dear CCP I really don't mind been proven wrong.

One other bit of speculation I will add
7) The same character can be used in all of CCP's games. Perhaps through the use of a certain door-that-shall-never-be-opened |

Just noticed that there is absolutely no mention of Dust or not legion of the fanfest schedule.
Probably the most we will get is a piece of concept art with the phrase "Maybe soon" written on it.
Anyone think we might see an alpha in the next 12 months? |

You know, given that EVE now has progressive installation (only downloads assets when you encounter them, rather than all at once), the above scenario may not be implausible. If players don't want to play Not-legion or EVE then they don't need to install it, but can if required. |

It was something mentioned in a previous fanfest that they wanted to do... |

Using the same character in each game. Only the skills applicable to each game that your character has would be visible I presume. I think maybe it was mentioned in 2014? |
