My bittervet ass decided to actually log into the forums to reply to this. Why is it that Jadek is always that bastard who not only steals my peg-legged Romani princess but also drags me back to this ridiculousness? Maybe I should just call him Tyler Durden...
Anyway, I dunno how to feel about this. Our last keynote or big thing was about a totally different game that isn't even happening (though, to be fair, the concept of 'DUST on PC' is what was sold). Considering that DUST has never had a great connection with New Eden and that really is what FanFest is about, 'New Eden' games, I don't see the need for NotLegion to show up there beyond just a "oh, look at this." I am trying to word this in such a way that I don't come off as an exclusive t*** like "I can't orgasm if the other person gets to enjoy it!" but I almost prefer NotLegion not being at FanFest and letting people that were originally invest in the "First 'New Eden' Shooter" getting the information first.
Again, avoiding the "I cannot enjoy it if that other person enjoys it!", it comes down to me feeling that if the game is being made for EVE players and is presented in that fashion I think we get left out in the cold. I have said it from the very beginning but the Rogue Wedding complaints have always stemmed from how the information was released rather than the information itself. Imagine if "Oh yeah, we are shutting down that PS3 game May 30th and making a new game on the PC!" would have gone over on the forums. Sure, the forums are always the most vocal people in a community but I don't think it is necessarily a false example of what people feel.
So maybe it is better that NotLegion isn't getting that big stadium entrance, keynote thing. The last kerfuffle happened because news with information was released in that fashion. With the new PC game probably only being worked on for the last year, at the most, how much could possibly be done for them to show off that wouldn't just feel like CCP screwing us over again? Ever since Legion was announced, I knew we were going to be screwed in some fashion: the only matter now is if it is the micro-fastener or the damn industrial auger.
"This is B.S! This is B.S! I paid money! Cash money, dollars money, cash money!"
