I think we can all agree that form our experience playing Dust 514, we have learned something from it that we can apply to real life. These are just 5 out of many things Dust has taught me, not in any particular order. So let's get started:
1. Patience
I am of a firm believer that everyone here who has stayed with Dust throughout the years and have remained active are probably the most patient people ever. For weeks, months, years, we have waited for updates, hotfixes, general news about the game, and even when we were let down disappointed, we stuck around because we believed in this game and what it stood for.
Another way this game has taught me patience is of course the seemingly endless grind. Constantly skilling up weapons and dropsuits takes extreme patience to do.
The patience I have gained from Dust is immeasurable, and has helped me in real life immensely in my day to day tasks.
2. Teamwork
In Dust, teamwork is key, in all game modes, and especially Planetary Conquest. Dust has taught me the value of working together with people towards a like minded goal, and that is easily transferable to real life. The people you work with don't need to be your best friends, but you do need to help each other to claim the victory flag.
3. Leadership
Dust 514 forced me to take on a leadership role, whether it was squad leader or Director of a corporation. I have found this great practice for taking on leadership roles in real life as well, and I think the experience has helped me out immensely.
4. Money Management
Dust has taught me to be frugal, too often have I run out of money by buying expensive items, in Dust and in real life as well. Later in the game I learned that running Militia Fits was the easiest way to make money, other than PC farming back in PC 1.0 (which I did not participate in unfortunately)
5. Persitance
Dust has taught me the art of persistence, to never give in to the enemy until the Victory or Defeat screen appears, to never lay down my arms. Dust has taught me that wars are not won in 5 minutes, but only with the hard work and a combined effort over an elongated period of time. Dust has taught me a very important lesson, and that lesson is:
ThereGÇÖs no such thing as winning or losing. There is won and there is lost, there is victory and defeat. There are absolutes. Everything in between is still left to fight for.
The enemy will have won only when there is no one left to stand against them. Until then, there is only the struggle, because tides do what tides do GÇô they turn.
What have you learned from Dust 514?

I like cunts, but they're ******* cunts. Honestly, the developers are fine, it is obvious they care about the game.
It's the company that is the problem.
