I learned...

-that people want to make ethnicity more relevant than it really is. For every Latino that you see doing something irritating, there's an obnoxious English-speaking player also abusing the meta. It's simply a matter of what you notice and what you don't.

-that Dust is an exact copy of the actual economy. No one cares if you're poor. You "did it to yourself" or "you're not abusing the system like I did and you should". And just like IRL, the majority of existing wealth is owned by a tiny percentage of the population. People with more ISK and assets than they know what to do with, but still refuse to give to new / intermediate players or even lower their ridiculous selling prices. (And I'm referring to pre-announcement too)

-not to trust the higher-ups to fix anything correctly or care about your opinion / well-being. Not to mention they listen to the highly successful individuals who are only worried about their own gains / ideals.

-that finding a small group of pleasant and like-minded people is the best way to enjoy yourself, have trusted trading partners, stay afloat financially, etc..


Dust has shown me a lot of human nature / psychology, good and bad. It doesn't surprise me at all that MMOs are studied in some colleges.
