Sitting up on a hill for the umpteenth time getting bored and wondering where all the targets were for my sniper rifle. (They were all inside the building - I'd never been in there so didn't know that's where everything was actually happening...)
Also, using one of the railgun installations to help take out the MCC............... |

deadpool lifetone wrote:. Thinking The Blueberries Had My Back In Battle's . Should of known better -_- lol yeah, like that ever happens!! Hack the objective, die to the usual squad of 4 on the other team, then go to respawn and discover not only are there no blueberries anywhere near, noone has dropped uplinks, including me because I'm in a Hawk Scout that doesn't have them... |

I did one better - I died falling twice, too, but the second time was fairly recently - I forgot which button to press..... :( |

Skilling into dumbfire swarms cuz my forum "research" concluded that they were OP. Logging in thinking imabouta put the smackdown. Instead, i fired at my first red (red berries weren't invented yet), then got shot like the newb i was.
Finding a dropship, boarded it into the sidegun slot then it lifted off. Because of the timing of it, i thought it was an automated "rail" type pre-scripted transport that just looped the field. I had no idea how to get out.
When i got my dropship, there was a bug that sometimes prevented tbe ship from lifting off. I thought i had jacked up my control settings somewhere and kept changing them thinking it was either combat controls OR vehicle controls. Neither worked.
Skilling into snipers to use a charge rifle. Never thought to just hold the button to fire. No. Coming from EVE i figured there was a special ammo typed needed for this rifle. I spent days trying to find it on the market, google, etc. There's still a post of mine way back when asking where i can get charge sniper rifle ammo. I eventually gave up on the charge. Some time later i start playing with the forge. One day it just clicked. Oooooh! I wonder if that damned charge works like this!??
Hm. I'm depressed now. =/ lol don't be depressed! That's a great list of completely acceptable noob mistakes, especially the EvE legacy ones. Yes, I sort of wondered where I could buy ammo, too, until I realised it was free (as long as you could find a supply depot or nanohive....)
Probably my biggest noob mistake was back in the Beta - I didn't know how to deploy in battle and finally gave up, only to revisit late last year, to find I had no problems whatsoever.
So does that make me a noob twice or a "double noob"? ;) |
