2 shield hardeners and 2 shield extenders, or 3 hardeners and 1 extender, all complex.

Edit- tried both. Not convinced. Maddy is better
I gave you the fit.
3x complex hardeners 1 Heavy booster extender to fit
complex CPU and PG in the lows.
It is the absolute best anti infantry setup, provided you can aim and have situational awareness.
It can tank a full magazine of triple damage modded railgun shots, is immune to missile tanks, and is faster than a plated maddy with a blaster, its chief nemesis. If you ride with lai dais, you can soak damage until a maddy has its hardeners drop and then roll up and nuke them.

What do you need a scanner for? Even the complex scanner can't pick up an undamped gal scout, or any single damped scout.
If you find yourself getting snuck up on, learn situational awareness. Being aware of your surroundings is more important than burning a slot that could be much more useful.
In an anti infantry tank, a damage mod is similarly not critical. If you can't slug down heavies, work on your aim and tap firing. By not relying on the damage boost to do your work for you, you will improve, and then when you do have a damage mod fit, you will be that much more effective.
Like I said in your previous topic, learn the shield booster. When it might work, when it absolutely won't, and when it will save your ass. Once you do that, you will be able to pull off ridiculous engagements.

I'v had success today with a Gladius CK.0 with 2 Heavy Shield Extenders, 2 Shield Hardeners, one Dispersion Destabiliser, Pro Blaster, and PG and CPU in the lows.
You can basically be perma-hardened with near 5000 Shield HP. |

I guess, but really, there aren't too many places where proxy traps are going to rickroll you, and when running a shield tank, you can actually stop when you hear the warning beep, unlike a maddy, especially with a fuel injector running.
There are always edge cases where specialist fits can be what is called for, but by and large I prefer a generalist approach. To me, the preferred fit is the one that is going to let me do my best most of the time, or at the very least allow me to dip out and call in a specialist fit.
I don't see the benefit in dropping the shield booster, which is really the lynchpin in the whole turtle fit in order to protect oneself from something that isn't a common threat.
I fired up dust after i made that post earlier, and instead of the blaster version, I rolled out in a XT turreted Turtle, and ran into someone who I know throws proxy traps like they are going out of style. Ate a 4 pack, didn't go down, cleared the rest because proxy trappers use chokepoints because its the most effective way, and that makes them somewhat predictable.

I prefer the triple hardened, because you end up with a 5 second gap every 25 seconds where you are not double hardened, which lets you regen through dual swarmers(non bonused commando). It also allows you, on a fairly short timeframe to setup a triple hardened attack run, which is ideal for attacking gank rail fits, or doing a smash and bash overheat and lai dai delivery.
I gave up on the stablizer, do you find it helps with range work, or do you use it to just go ham until you almost overheat?

I alternate the Hardeners myself, and I find that as soon as one is out of juice, the other one's ready to go.
Stabiliser is definitely useful for range, and I think it's way more useful than Damage Mods or Heat Sinks. It's just so frustrating when an enemy has barely any HP left and you keep firing on them, with your crosshairs RIGHT ON THEM, but it just keeps missing and they run behind cover.
None of that when you use a Stabiliser. ;) |

Interesting. Do you normally tap fire, or hold steady on the trigger? I used to find the dispersion problematic until I switched over to religious tap firing, now it doesn't seem like something I would want to give up a slot for, although the reduced dispersion at range would be potentially helpful when kiting an armor tank, or trying to tag headglitching swarmers.
Then again, unless its a full squad of swarmers, they can generally be ignored when driving a shield tank.

I've used stabalizers on many occasions and I don't see them to useful. Sure, you can fire more accurate for longer times but you can do so the same as long as you tap fire without going to fast (making the reticule larger). I find damage mods and heat sink much more useful

3 Extenders and 2 Hardeners. That said I usually deploy with gunners or at least 2 infantry I transport and cover during hacks so we just out DPS things.
AV impenetrable. Only really beat by Maddies when on cool down but honestly if you are letting a Maddy engage you when your mods are off you deserve to die.

i use aldin duke alot.... i suggest 1 hardener n as many shield as possible... cuz sometimes there r plc n fg from very far away, u may b hit by multiple guys at the same time. aldin with 2 dmg mod causes about 1800 dmg per shot , usually will miss 2 or 3 shots. so its over 5000 dmg in 6 secs
if there r no aldin.... no worries... pro tank is undestroyable lol
just found cal assault op^^
welcome to Taiwan ^^

Best way to avoid severe AV damage is to use cover. Yes to all those who didn't know that tank do have to use cover.
The best way to avoid being destroyed is to never be hit.
