So originally I planned on getting a full blown top of the line gaming rig, but then I realized. I'm going to be going to college for roughly 6-8 years and considering that, I wouldn't even get to use it almost at all. So would it be more practical to just get a gaming laptop instead of a gaming rig in that case?

Well it's not like I would ever have my dorm be unlocked, nor would I take the laptop out of my dorm.

Either classical music performance or perhaps a teaching career. 4 years for a Bachelor's degree and then 2-4 more years for a Masters/PHD.

I have an idea!
How about I put some Complex Profile Dampeners on my laptop so that thieves can never find it? I'm sure it will have enough CPU to fit them.

Well 4 years for an undergrad and then another 2-4 years for your Master's/Doctorate.
