Unlike EVE though they aren't permanently implanted where they are working the whole time. You'd have to activate them. Also, you wouldn't lose them when you get cloned, they are one use whenever you are ready to activate. The lore would be that you have a master clone that is linked to all your clones in the match. Personally, I'm looking forward to the Boot Booster. You get to kick one player from the other team. What you are thinking of is more like Drugs in EVE. You take them and they give you a major boost for a limited time, but then you come down and get a de-buff that lasts longer. In DUST they could be an auto injector module (active biotic module) or equipment, that gives you a 10 second buff followed by a 50 second de-buff. Or maybe a 30 second buff, followed by a 90 second de-buff. The length of the de-buff would be to balance the buff. Maybe have a 3 minute cooldown on the auto injector as well (reset if you die and respawn). I imagine a heavy injecting himself with a needle, and just running into a crowd of enemies with ishukone nova knives and moving faster than a scout.

I'm looking forward to seeing Dust fully integrated into EvE so that everything you can do with an EvE capsuleer you can do with a Dust merc. Dust 2.0, of course. ;) That is VERY unlikely. I'm pretty sure she doesn't mean flying a ship like in EvE. Just complete integration with it so that actions in one game affect the other game as well. Yes, that's what I meant. No of course I don't mean piloting a ship - that's what EvE is for. What I meant is that the dynamics of clones could (and probably should) be integrated with EvE and the two games share a common universe, which they don't really right now. It would actually be harder for them to separate the two than integrate the two, being in the one universe. I think they only had to do that with Dust on PS3 because of the PS3. |
