Most of you have moved on to new games. I see AE/OH on World of Tanks, along with ESO and others. Now so many are on Division.
Let me ask you guys this. You all sit here and talk about who was the greatest, is the greatest, whatever. Best shooters and gun game. Where are all you scrubs on Rainbow? on Rocket? These dust stories and web series, you guys say nothing matters after the vets left. I challenge that wholeheartedly. Dust was/is an mmorpg. Things are OP, based on skill/grinding/gear/etc. How come none of you can transfer this "skill" you claim to have, to a game that does not allow you to grind your way to having a clear competitive advantage over your opponents? Instead, you move on to another mmorpg, where you can smash hobby noobs who simply don't have the time to get what you have. Or you can devise an OP setup that puts you in front of someone who, in fact, is skillfully better than you.
After getting away from Dust and returning to my Gamebattles/MLG roots, it dawned on me how much time I wasted on a game that was not based on skill - but on time, on meta. Obviously skill plays a role, but seriously? I really expected to see many of the titans from Dust flock to what is clearly the most evenly-matched competitive titles out there. But sadly, I see none.
When I say I played Dust514 to a competitive gamer, am I pretty much saying I played World of Tanks for 2 1/2 years? I spent $60 on Division....made it to like level 20. Garbage gear grind. Grand Theft Assassin's Borderland Destiny.
I played with Cryo on Siege until they turned into Lost In Translation. Hovered between Gold IV and Plat.
Right now I just play Arma and Morrowind. League isn't working right now because of my ISP. Excited to start a new DnD campaign this sunday.
I'm taking things pretty chill right now competitively. College makes it hard for me to commit like I used to.

Ah COD.
Amazingly built FPS game.
Never been a fan of it. For multiple and various reasons.

I've got tons of footage I still need to trim/upload, but the link below will give you an idea. College definitely takes time away, I'm pretty much in the same boat. Hammer of JusticeFor Rocket Badger, Silver ranked last season...just placed Challenger III for Doubles/Standard. About to hit Master neckbeard. I'll add you later, long as you aren't a penguin Kalante check out the DOOM freeze-tag MP gamemode....enjoy Agreed though OP, it just made sense to see gun-game inclined players transfer to the next tier. Sigh, I digress.
I don't know why sledge hasn't gotten some nerf already.
He has an amazing primary; the L86 has good capacity, excellent damage and is very easy to control due to being bullpup.
He has access to the best sidearm in the game, a fucking mac-11 WITH AN ACOG.
His hammer can be used a ton of times, is highly versatile and always works. You can't really work around it as a defender, short of reinforced walls.
On top of all this, he has frags.
He is without a doubt, one of the strongest and most versatile attackers.
I hope they never nerf him

I think the spirit of what he's trying to say is that if people were such FPS gods, why hasn't he seen a similar performance from those players on other game?
Which is a valid observation.
There are multiple things you could draw from this, none are mutually exclusive.
1. Dust "vets" prefer niche FPS games, and thus you don't see them in other titles
2. Dust "vets" are one trick ponies, who were only good at dust and not other games.
etc etc
At the end of the day, not much really matters. Top tier in dust was always a kind of misnomer with the small community. The smaller the pool (especially with large teams), the greater the deviation for the top tier.

The reason why you have not been seeing similar performance levels on other games is because DUST was a pretty simple FPS with a very small community in comparison to other video games of it's category. Some of the vets I've spoken to have noted that Regnyum is amazing at DUST, easily one of the top players, but when playing COD (I think COD was the specific game mentioned by this person) Regnyum wasn't nearly at the same performance level compared to DUST. That's just a great example and quote from one of the older well respected vets in the game.
Why are you using an alt when the game is literally dying in a couple of months?

What vets are you guys referring to? Cause the vets that i know that left the game are beasts in every game that I've seen them in. MAG, BF (any of em), PS2, etc. I can go on.....players just need to accept what is. What players left dust and are trash elsewhere? Name them...please
I used "vets" with quotations for a reason.
I personally don't agree with the stipulation, most people I know who were GOOD at dust are good at other games too. FPS skills tend to transfer very well.
I was just trying to explain what he meant to those who were confused.
