Gridboss BetaMax. 185	Posted - 2012.06.27 11:31:00 - [1] - Quote Now Updated for Open Beta Server details: Address: irc.coldfront.net Ports: 6667, 8080 SSL Ports: 7778 Channel #DUST514 Chances are most of you haven't used IRC before, so I'll give you a basic run down on how you get on: When you start up your client, you'll be prompted for a name. Best to stick to letters and numbers with no spaces - you can use an underscore as a replacement if you wish. (Some people have taken to adding clan tags - if you want to do this, use [tag] AFTER your name). [WEB CLIENT LINKED ABOVE ONLY] Once you've connected to Coldfront, chances are you'll be in the default channel. You can leave that by typing /leave type /join #DUST514 You're in! Start chatting. If you find yourself visiting often, you might want to register your nick so no one else can take it. (This was previously a requirement to access the channel - this is no longer the case since the NDA has been lifted) type /ns register password email address . Make sure the email address is one you can access, you'll need to get a code from it. With that complete, check your inbox for a new message from Coldfront. If it's not there, check your spam folder. Once you have that, type /ns auth code where code is the code you received in the email. (Chances are you can copy paste the whole command from the email if you're lazy) With that done, your account is now setup! Every time you connect to Coldfront, you should always type "/ns Identify password" to login in again. (Most dedicated IRC clients can automate this for you, so RTFM if you're using one as it varies. Google is always your friend as well). (For ease of access, you can also add the channel to your auto join list by using /ns ajoin add #DUST514) (If when attempting to use the commands above you get an error saying that the "specificed channel/nick does not exist", replace /ns and /cs with /msg nickserv and /msg chanserv in all the commands) If you have any problems setting up your account but you can get onto IRC, you can get in contact with me by using /query Grideris - this will open a private chat. However, you should check if I'm online before you do so by using /whois Grideris. If I'm not around, you can also talk to Nova (who you may know as Nova Knife on the forums) - he can sort you out if need be. If you can't get onto IRC, you can tweet to me, or alternatively you can email me: [email protected].
