So I was reading through some news stories on yahoo.com last night and I came across the one about Trumps rally being shut down due to protesters.
I'm still trying to find the same article, but in the story they were able to obtain a quote from a Trump supporter who attended the rally. What he said isn't important. What is important is the mans name was Rusty Shackleford.
I was pretty sure American politics had become some twisted reality tv show, now I'm convinced. |

Lol I remember seeing a political comic a few months ago of some guys trying to buy the presidential election for a TV show. I'll update when I find it.

Rusty Shackleford is the name that Dale used when doing any sort of paperwork because he did not want the government to be able to track him. You can take it as a poke at a Trump supporter which I would agree with but I see it more as a poke at the fact it has turned into such a crap show that people are seemingly using known aliases because they do not even want to be related to what they say.
EDIT:
When I say Dale I am talking about Dale Gribble from King of the Hill. That was some great comedy there, nothing like today's average junk. |

No, that's it.
Obviously whoever gave the quote gave the alias, and their real name is most certainly not Rusty Shackleford. I just got a good laugh at the idea of presidential candidates receiving endorsements from cartoon characters.
Plus the fact the publisher didn't catch it (I would have saId "an unnamed source", not make it look like I was quoting a cartoon character).
And that video was good too Dreis. Fake, ratings boosting nonsense. |

And like LMNH said, many parallels can be drawn between Dale Gribble and a Trump supporter
Just look how many people here seemed to know Rusty. It's hard to believe that King of The Hill has been gone for so long. I still go back and watch a few episodes every once in a while which is probably the only reason I got the reference.
I also would have no trouble believing the reporter had a good laugh at the guy saying that was his name as he hit publish.
Since its a political thread I have to say it:

American politics became a reality T.V. show when Lincoln got shot. We just had to wait for technology to catch up so we could show it.
If it wasn't for Thomas Edison [cough] read: Tesla [cough] we'd be watching T.V. by candle light.

What's funny is that most think he's a republican when he spent most of his life as a democrat. He helped democrats get elected. His bff is Bill Clinton. His daughters bff is Chelsea Clinton. TBH I'm loving how he's shown how stupid America is. I'm American and I've been tired of how dumb most of us have become. The one thing he has done better than any republican is treatment of vets. All republicans in office right now have taken away vet benefits. Look up their voting history and it's garbage towards vets. But Trump has donated millions of his own money to them. He's just trolling this election. He's using every negative republican stereotype there is and is beating every real republican and libertarian in the race. He's a democrat that's about to get the republican ticket and right there is some funny stuff. |

That is, as long as it isn't Trump. I can't decide who I dislike more, Sanders or Clinton.

Trump won't win. His goal is to get his friends elected. The last time H Clinton ran for prez he spent a ton on her campaign. Every time any bad publicity against her hits the news he does something to take the heat off of her. He's spent $$$ on immigration rights but he's made enemies with every non white in this country so they will vote for Clinton come November because it's his job to sabotage the republican ticket. I'm loving this election just because if you research Trumps actual stances on everything it's the exact opposite of what he's saying now. If you want to know where people really stand follow the paper trail. |

Same kind of entertainment lol Except people like Macho Man, Hulk Hogan, Junkyard Dog, and the Shiek were much more endearing characters.
