Soooo I used the aldins last night with my archduke's in 2 pub matchs. I have 3 players that can verify this. First game I went 36-4 and 2nd was 26-0 and that was mainly cqc hahha. Here's an idea... So I'm there with my sqd member Vicious- "they're on the hills jade!" 2 seconds later Jade " 1... 2... 3.. 4... 5... 6.... reload" Vicious- "my god that that's crazy as hell"
The enemies start spawning on cru and start moving about...
Vicious "jade they're on the roof" Jade "okay I'll sort it"
Starts running to them
Vicious "no wayyyy jade"
I begin to kill everything hahahaha
I'm not bragging but this was just share excitement for me. How many times do you see a forge gunner having double the most kills. Also 95% of my shots landed! Which is exciting in itself haha.
My achievements in the past week:
1. 11 man kill feed with min sentinel and hmg... I begin screaming like lunatic
2. 2 mil isk payout 2nd time playing as min logi.... I go crazy and make a forum post.
3. Destroyed over 15 tanks in 1 match o.O I crown myself predator of all tanks hahahah
4. And last night... 2 games= total of 60 plus forge gun kills and 4 deaths with a 26 killstreak
I'm going to miss forge gunning after 30th may
Also George, my online time is UK time. So tonight I'll be on from 1800-whenever so if you're American you'll be 5 hours or so behind me! When you messaged me last it was 2 in the morning if that helps hahah

For CQC forging you will likely want an armor rep tanked sentinel.
When going up against infantry you want to have line-of-sight on your enemies about every 3 seconds (4 seconds recharge - 25% Forgegun operation bonus). An armor tanked sentinel will rep 120-150 hp in that time. A CalSent is lucky to repair ~60-70 hp before he is exposed to hostile fire again.
Also you will often be involved in long range skirmishes. That means you catch a bit of enemy fire all the time. Not something a CalSent excells at.
Personally, I'm using a rep tanked Amarr Sentinel. Not because it's optimal, just because it's fun.
As for damage mods: Against infantry you don't need those. One shots really kills almost anything, and whatever survives the forgegun blast only takes a scratch from a magsec to go down. Personally I like having a complex precision enhancer. That allows you to scan down other sentinels and commandos from 22.5 meters out. In CQC that is enough time to charge a shot and wait for them to come around the next corner. Those are just the best kills. Awesome proto HMG heavy tries to breach the enemy lines, Logi in pursuit, he turns around a corner, has just enough time to realize that he is looking at the business end of a charged forgegun and then gets sent to the death screen. |

Yay Forge Gun!
While there is a lot of interesting narrative about the upper limits of forge capabilities, they are often overlooked as an effective way to rally at the redline. I always keep a MLT heavy with MLT forge and basic modules for when things get rough. As my team gets pushed into the redline, this fit allows me to field a lot of power against the protosuits harassing into the redzone. Taking out 1-2 protosuits will often cause them to loosen their hold and allow someone on your team to get an uplink foothold. The more people that switch to forge gunning at the redline, the sooner this seems to happen. It's a beautiful weapon, and the assault version is worth every bit of patience.

I like using precision enhancers and damps on my heavy, they really do help

Forgers also scare away those expensive vehicles from the redline

Don't be an amar damn it!! I seen these posts and I disagree Breakin will agree amar sent is main stream. Bring out your archduke's slap a forge gun and go show everyone what you're made of and btw?? Forge gun 1vs1 is the most terrifying 1 vs 1 you can have. But when you win? The reward is 200 times more then a normal 1vs1

The Amarr Sentinnal can be a great suit but make no mistake forge master... I am skilling into the Archdukes!
1v1 against a formidable opponent with light/sidearms can be nerve racking but still gives you a small margin for error.
I would guess that forging on the other hand has no margin.
One shot one kill
