Hello their my forging companion step into my office! XD
Okay sooo in pc since the days of derrith flying in the sky I have been dedicated av and occasionally heavy hmg. But I like to think forging is my ultimate role.
My loud out is very basic because I play it differently to most.
So first off this is just advice that you probably don't need but here's the times when and when not to use the forges I'll explain in basic weapons.
Standard forge- this is perfect for impacted sniping. So best choice of use is either looking straight or looking up. More of a patient weapon. Don't stack dmg mods if hunting infantry it's pointless with the standard.
Breach forge- I'd only use this for av and if you have a dedicated partner forger with a breach. Stack dmg definitely use a cal sent with this. With a perfect timed shot with a team mate will take everything out. Avoid all infantry. Don't even shoot at them, if you get there attention you have to deal with them all game... aka thales from 400 metres away.
Assault forge- this is beautiful, I use it to perfected accuracy. The key is to stick with it. I stack dmg mods on it. This as anyone knows is to help splash and av. Pulse the forge, and watch. 99% of dust mercs have a patterned strafe. When you see that it becomes a matter of understanding the speed of the shot. Looking down on enemies is obviously the special function with the assault. Some things to keep in mind. Always safe yourself a clip before going to resupply. I see so many forgers that go to resupply with an empty gun and they're basically dead if anything comes close. Remember to change your spot. When you reach a certain level of accuracy you become the biggest pain in games, making you a massive target. Expect Dropships or snipers, that's why moving around is key. Never engage a tank when your clip isn't full. Unless you have a 99% chance of the weak spot.
So my fits are.. excuse the officer.
Breach forge fit
Archduke 3dmg 2 reactives Breach ar
Assault forge
Cal sent 4 krins 1 reactive Smg
Standard forge
Amar sent Shield extender 4 reactives or 4 repairs. Bolt pistol
Funny assault forge fit
Archduke 3 jump mods Kin cat Regulator
(Jump and fire down)
Sorry for the essay xD

You will discover the true meaning of pissed-off, butthurt rage.
Bonus points if you can kill someone's two wounded buddies around the corner with the splash when you shoot his ass off the catwalk.

My favourite thing to do is get yourself assault forge stack dmg and go into ambush. You will get ****** up so bad at the start. But be patient... it's got to a point that I am more effective with a forge in ambush then any other weapon.
Vet brings out amar assault with a victors.. I see the lazer prepare shot.. kill him then he rage quits game.. "nawwww veteran lost his officer :, ("
On another note best kill feed is 1shot 4 kills with me! And they're not in a vehicle.
Ultimately in a vehicle was maximum in a gorgon plus a scout that was next to the crashed gorgon hahaha

It isnt terribly difficult to pop around the corner or blap someone through a doorway, especially heavy frames. I'd almost prefer it as a backup to an Hmg heavy, just pop tarts until you run out lol

Well I tried the assault forge today for the first time and that did not workout well
My timing was way off and I could only hit vehicles.
With the regular forge you just charge and fire when YOUR ready
The assault version requires you to have the target in sights and the gun timing in synch, seems much harder to do.
Even though the chargeup time is longer I do like that breach forge with its 2000+ damage, dropships dont seem to like it though, lol
The main thing seems to be finding a good spot and having enough ammo.
I will give that assault forge another try tomorrow and see how it goes.

If you're after vehicle kills first and foremost and consider kills on infantry a secondary goal the AFG is the best choice. If you're after infantry kills primarily and only shoot at vehicles at times of opportunity, the vanilla FG is much more reliable.
The vanilla FG does work as an anti-infantry weapon. On some sockets it is actually the best choice for clearing out heavies.
However, if you want to become a true legend, CQC AFG it is. |

The main reason I started forging was for vehicles. I didnt even think about infantry till afterwards.
Currently I spawn in a uplink/hacker scout and then switchout to my apex shogun for forging
I lost to many officer forges so i am running the basic stromborne with 4 krins damage mods with another shogun fitting for the an advanced assault version with 2 Krins- thats all I could fit with that.
Other than getting the aiming and timing down right I am always running out of ammo. So I have skilled ammo capacity to 3 and plan to max it out.
I have been messing around with the breach forge but not being able to move while charged in addition to the 6 sec charge time is making me not want to use it.
Using the Alldins proved why everyone here says to use the assault version.
It just punishes vehicles =ƒÿ¦
I need to start skilling into a heavy frame really soon.
I was going to go with the Cal sentinal because you dont need to rely on anyone else for reps but also considering the Min since it has almost as good shield reps and can run faster for longer. Also because I have a stockpile if Archdukes
Which heavy would you recommend?
Jade I have been trying to catch you online but it doesnt seem like our schedules will allow it, hopefully we can meet up and I can learn from you.
Breakin & Slayer I will try to remember about the splash damage
Jammer I am trying, lol. Hopefully it doesnt take to long for me to get the hang of it.
Thanks to all for the input and please keep it coming

Stacking 4 Krins damage mods gets you a 17% damage increase somehow.
Been using the bolt pistal thats equipted on the shogun and actually liking it. That works out well since I was going to skill into that next.
Currently have a cmplx damp in the lowslot
Your fit sounds good though, I will try it.

Pro tip for more active vehicle-hunters: - use own dropship - for better position (roofs) and evacuate. Works very well at this combo.
