If what they showed at 2014 is what they've been working on for almost 2 years then maybe a open beta sometime next year and If so then maybe a release in 2018.
Holy shite I just realized all these years have past by, and this game is still meh on the ps3.
Why did so many fools give CCP $$$ ?

The wait may just be so long that people forget about this game and not look back. Then CCP would have to do huge advertising or somehow remind the veterans of this game of what that one shite f2p shooter on the ps3 back in the day.

Similar to their previously failed FPS Dust 514, Eve: Unity is missing critical content that solidifies the MMO experience. Weapon selection has been stepped up since Dust 514, presenting the question of balancing, only on a grander scale. Will this be another endless nerf and buff game to milk cash out of FOTM chasers?
Overall it does seem that CCP learned the minimal amount of lessons from Dust 514 thanks to the choice to build a whole new team and once again start from scratch in their pursuit to add a FPS to their Eve universe.
This may only be the beta of Eve: Unity but the same issues from Dust 514 seem to be repeating them self.

Look at this announcement that the game would be shutdown and the new game would be on PC and think about just how close they came to PERFECTLY repeating the mistakes of fanfest 14. Learning from their mistakes at any real measurable rate is obviously not the strong suit. Something tells me Frame and Rattati literally had to jump up and down screaming fanfest 14 just to get to say what they did when they did. Makes you wonder why so many of us see this new project as already being vaporware with a few trailers before anything has even been shown. CCP realizes that they have lost their grasp on being a unique company and is struggling to get this status back with the whole VR push. The difference is they are already in contest with real AAA studios and it is hard to see this ending well for them.
It sort of feels like it's way too late for CCP to actually make a push towards making their full potential with their products the EVE universe(EVE,Dust,Valkyrie) since it seems like they have actual competition like Star Citizen and Elite: Dangerous. But they are going ahead with it so they may just be able to pull it off.
