MENUS!!!
They need to be brought in line with how other games out there navigate through their menus. Not made a direct copy, but something more intuitive. For instance, when claiming my beta equipment rewards, checking things off in the list with the "X" button and then moving to a button that allows me to continue by pressing it with "X" is a lot more natural than using the square button to check of things and using "X" to continue. I'm sure several other impatient players such as myself accidentally skipped this menu when they pressed "X" in an attempt to assign their equipment to their character instead of looking and seeing the controls.
Controls
In game, I understand we're super awesome clone nublets hossing around tons of goodies to use on people, but there's got to be a better way to switch between the toys than the "hold down L2" and move the right stick feature as it is now (maybe swapping it to left stick?). As it is now, it makes it very hard to switch to specialized equipment under duress. If possible, allow for shortcuts on the D-pad.
I hope that you provide as many variations as you can for controls. If this isn't possible, let me know, but I will give you my fourthborn child and endless gratification if you make the control schemes accommodating as much as possible. And to be honest, if you're looking to snipe players from other FPS, take a look at common control schemes and see if you can make them similar to what DUST has. A control scheme doesn't have to be revolutionary, it just has to work for the genre the game is. As it feels now, it's like I'm dragging an RTS game's controls into shooter combat on an FPS game.
Character Movement
As it is now, I feel like a freight train. An innacurate freight train. Sprinting does not remove your ability to move laterally, it's frustrating when you're trying to shank someone but you have to keep stopping to adjust your angle of forward velocity.
Those are some of the things I find in need of work. It'd be pointless to complain about graphics and optimization at this point, they are secondhand to the fine tuning of game mechanics and features function in a beta.
