The data is stored in the Tranquility live server. Since CCP will only be shutting down the smaller battle servers which connect to the PlayStation Network, your data is safe.
Just don't expect anything more than your name being preserved.

With that said, some stats might be kept as well. Hopefully they pass our BPOs and SP. that's what matters the most as money and time was spent on that.
Isk, aur, assets, etc, we can easily get more of that. But its SP and bpos that matter to me mostly.
I had to give MY WALLET for the G-M/H skins. 200M+ isk. I wanna keep them.
Gonna make sure to take a pic of EVERYTHING I HAVE before the servers go down just incase.
Again, don't expect anything beyond your name to transfer. You'll only set yourself up to be greatly disappointed.

You'll only set yourself up to be greatly disappointed. Ugh. I know. But it's just.... So much time to get So and stuff all to see it go down the sink. I could have stepped my trumpet level up, gotten some decent abs, improved school work, etc etc etc. It's a disappointment to see it all go down the drain. There should ATLEAST be a skill pool so that all our SP is generated again over time. Basically, at the fairest way, we would probably get 1.5x more sp per match from our normal pool to get out SP back. Some people spent hundreds of dollars for thier SP. they Shiism atleast get some back no? I feel ^^^ that would be the fairest as we all still start fresh. Example- Dust vet- 1500 sp New player- 1000 sp
Hey I spent about $200, maybe more, on this game and I don't regret it. Hell, I don't care if I start fresh from the beginning with nothing but the dropsuit on my back and my rusty militia knives on my hand with no ISK in my pocket. Sometimes it's great to start over because it makes you appreciate where you came from and how you got there.
Besides, the mere fact that you and I can proudly call ourselves Dust 514 players in the New Eden FPS for PC is reward enough for me.

Why would they care about our names?
They just pulled the plug on us and are currently not even paying attention to dust.
What they did was disgusting to their player base on the PS3.
Basically pulled the plug on life support to us all.
Then came out and said ohhh yeah by the way we are making a FPS on the PC.
How the F does that benefit us console gamers?
I am speaking for most of you here. As i own a top quality gaming PC already.
But i can imagine how all you dedicated console gamers feel right now.
If its anything like me you got to be disgusted at CCP right now.

You don't speak for me. No one does. Not even God himself. So **** off.
PS: You speak for NO ONE either. Only for yourself. Remember that.

ANON Cerberus wrote:I don't expect Full assets, skills, isk etc... but I would like something a lot more tangible and relevant than a little badge or trophy. I believe there is plenty of time and room to come to some sort of middle ground arrangement of sorts but to be fair it really does depend on what CCP does with the new game.
Will we still have skills and skill points? I would imagine we will keep if not build upon character fitting and customisation as that is one of the hallmarks.
There is a lot I am eager to discover.
A middle ground would be fine by me.
As I said before, I don't expect CCP to port over our assets mainly because there will be so many changes to the new FPS on PC that I doubt our assets will be the same anyways. What if CCP adopts CCP Z's progression system that was originally proposed by him for Project Legion back in 2014? If that happens, our BPOs would be practically pointless to have unless they were converted to SKIN modules. But we all know we didn't pay AUR for those BPOs just for the looks. We bought them for the utility. But that utility will get removed if CCP Z's proposal gets implemented.
For the record, I don't like CCP Z's proposal so I decided to make a counterproposal back in 2014. Tell me what you think. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1ztubg6eHMMMwDF8QJtBniU065XCtM-Uy32Ags2-TSNg/edit?usp=sharing
Even if we do keep the utility aspect of the BPOs, who is to say CCP won't convert them into Eve Online BPOs where materials are required for manufacturing and you have to pay facilities to utilize them?
As for AUR consumables like the 'Pyrus' Assault A-1 Series or 'Raider' Scout, it will be extremely hard for CCP to tell which ones and how much of each were acquired with cash-purchased AUR and not that of the Daily Login or Event Rewards AUR. Let's not also forget about the salvaged AUR items. It would be an extremely long process of compiling a proper script to determine all of this without fudging up anyone's inventory. How much Dev time and resources would that take to accomplish? Dev time and resources that could have been better spent creating an awesome and stable game?
But again, I'm all for a middle ground. If CCP can pull off transferring everyone's assets into the new game including BPOs and AUR plus AUR consumables, then good for them and lucky for us. But as I said before, I don't expect anymore than my name to transfer. I have been disappointed by CCP in the past with Eve Online: Incarna and Fanfest 2014. I don't want to set myself up for another major disappointment.

Same here. But I don't feel bad about it. If anything, it only made it more depressing for me to think that 1.3 would be our last official update. At least in 1.2 I had plenty of fun without the depressing feeling.

Our names should be the only thing we keep. I want to keep everything because that's what EvE is about. Yes, I know this is Dust, but it's in the New Eden EvE Universe, and should by rights then be persistent. I'm sure CCP was at least a little worried there'd be people like me that believe things shouldn't just end like that, particularly in New Eden. The idea of New Eden is that once a part of that universe comes into being, it continues in some form for as long as CCP exists. That's why the transition to the new platform should carry across just as much as CCP can preserve of our existing advancement, just exactly as if they were porting it. There is nothing to stop them doing exactly that. The database is on Tranquility. They can keep exactly what they want of it to populate the new game's database, even just keep the database itself for that matter, with whatever database mods are necessary for the new platform. I don't buy this "tiered recognition" rubbish. They can do a lot better than that. They can even give you guys that want to start again a skill reset or even a complete wipe if they want, but give me what I've already got, thanks.
For the record, according to the EULA and ToS we all signed up for, everything in Eve Online and Dust 514 from the largest titan to the smallest dropsuit belongs to CCP Games. You don't own your stuff.
