I really have nothing more to say other than "you're right". Anyone would argue that PC is the best platform to develop a game like Dust, and they are right, but I'm also pretty sure that if Dust never had those important bugs and if it would have been better optimised since the beginning, a lot more people would have stayed and played the game.
Anyone I talked to said that "Dust has an huge potential, but in its current state, I don't like it" and to be honest, they were right. A platform swap was needed, it's only that I feel like it's the wrong place now. And please, I said now. It was a bad idea to develop the game for ps3 to begin with, it was as clear as the sun in a sunny day that ps3 was dying and that Sony was about to announce the ps4. At this point the choices were three: go for ps4, go for PC or go for both- what they did, they developed the game for a well-known difficult architecture on a dying platform. And since the original team never developed a) an FPS b) a game of the scale of Dust on PS3 it was pretty much an announced failure.
That said, I'm sure CCP still has interest in the console market, since it's generally not a bad idea to make successful games for a successful console like ps4, I just think they want to be sure their product is good before shipping it on console.
