Right now everyone has every suit so specialization is unknown. Back then, when you skilled into x role and x suit, you got damn good at it. It was your only role for months possibly. You perfect it.

I imagine most still try to focus on their favorite. I've done every role out there, but put way more time trying to perfect the Amarr Commando more than anything else.
