It is just because of the communication. waiting for 4 months of silence hoping for 1.3 or a port, now the news comes that the games quits in 3 months (like we fooled you for 4 months). I hoped that there would be a future and i really expected a port to PC which i would be perfectly fine with, but in the message is no announcement that Legion would be launched at the first of June. my advice is don't leave a gap of waiting between the end of Dust and the release of the new game (at least not bigger than a month), because i very likely won't play that game if it would be like that. I really like dust and i didn't care about the framerate issues as long i could explore the maps (mcc construction facility) and as long i could look good. But CCP could you do one more thing before shutting down please, reactivate the mcc construction facility in the rotation or place it under other contracts. (i don't mind the lagg i just wan't to fly jump drive and dive along all maps) Dude, when they announced Legion and backstabbed console players in april 2014, decision was made in mid-November 2013 at the very least. I challenge anyone to deny that fact as it would simply be dishonest. We knew as CPM during december and despite my pretty savage push to go public ASAP, it still stayed under the carpet until April because it needed "good communication". Anyone here remembers about "good communication" during FF14 ? What i remember is rathr a good amount of paid gear to be released between january 2014 and april 2014. Are you not breaching the NDA there mate? My NDA ended january 1st 2015. I know, i signed the papers.
Well aint that something? Even the CPM knew for nearly half a year that they weren't "laser focused" on PS3, but instead of anybody telling us this they instead sold us Aurum left and right for months and hyped us for a big announcement at a "Dust 514 Keynote."
I'm not blaming anyone from CPM0 either, you guys had no legal ground to do anything.

Sad to say, but CCP finessed us.

There's a reason I haven't and won't spend money on CCPs games anymore.
Until they show some results, I'm not falling for that trap again. Here's there chance for redemption, let's see how it goes.

Speaking with PCgamesN at the event, CCP Shanghai managing director Jean-Charles Gaudechon said the team is trying to GÇ£deliver the best experienceGÇ¥ with the shooter, but right now, DIST 514 is the priority.
GÇ£I would always like to share as much as possible with our fans and players, but of course it then creates expectations,GÇ¥ he said. GÇ£All I know is that weGÇÖre working really hard on trying to deliver the best experience.
GÇ£Of course PC is a target because thatGÇÖs our primary platform for Eve Online, [but weGÇÖre] seeing how Dust is evolving. Making that as good as possible, and then seeing how that translates GÇô if that ever translates.GÇ¥
During the opening keynote at Fanfest, CCP boss Hilmar Veigar P+¬tursson said there was GÇ£nothing new to reportGÇ¥ on Project Legion as the team is GÇ£still exploring in that area.GÇ¥
CCP said DUST 514 is profitable and attracts new players daily, so both new and current community memebers deserve everything they were promised by the developers.
GÇ£WeGÇÖre obviously thinking of the future, but I feel we owe Dust players on PS3 everything they deserve,GÇ¥ said Gaudechon. GÇ£Which means hotfixes and all the things we can do to keep them happy. We have players right now playing and paying for an experience.GÇ¥
Project Legion-áwas announced at EVE Fanfest 2014-áas a GÇ£new approach to being a mercenary on the groundGÇ¥, and taking everything learned from DUST 514 and GÇ£almost making a new game from scratch.GÇ¥
GÇ£ItGÇÖs in the same IP, same place and all the rest of it, but we want to do some fundamentally different things with it that we feel we missed out on and that we didnGÇÖt do right [with Dust],GÇ¥ said the firmGÇÖs Sean Decker at the time. GÇ£Honestly, we didnGÇÖt make a great game to begin with. We tried to do too much.GÇ¥
Project Legion will allow those who play DUST 514 to keep all PS3 progress such as identity, player name, objects, etc when migrating over to PC.
In another post it's really a question this should answer it YOU GET TO KEEP ALL PROGRESS!!!!
THE BIG ONE I GOT ARE WHAT ARE THE SPECS GOING TO BE FOR PC AND I'M REALLY QUESTIONING A PLAYSTATION RELEASE AT ALL BE CAUSE OCULUS WITH EVE GAMES ARE COMPATIBLE WITH X BOX CONTROLERS!!!!!! |

I want to know some off the record things.... Did they change the contract dates? The world is full of corporations, and many of them do not use their status as an excuse for poor communication.
Look at SC and the amount and kind of communication that goes on in that development process. Its night and day compared to CCP.

Look at SC and the amount and kind of communication that goes on in that development process. Its night and day compared to CCP. To be fair, SC has a huge budget and a fanatically loyal fanbase.
And I mean, they're doing Gods work over there. Literally building the new technology that many of tomorrows games will utilize. It's really awesome stuff what they're doing. One of the crowdfunding goals that they met was specifically to help fund constant communication through videos and blogs, and it was a fantastic idea. I've never seen a company like CIG before, it's really refreshing.

I've never seen a company like CIG before, it's really refreshing. CCP had plenty of time to build up a simlar fanbase over the years, and even looking at some of the ways they have chosen to communicate with the EVE community suggests a problem that starts from the top.
The entire organization communicates poorly with their customers. Their particular corporate culture is completely out of whack.
Hopefully this new person they brought in from EA will address some of those communication problems, but if it is too ingrained in the organization, and if there is resistance to change from other people in management, you can simply expect more of the same in the future.

My thing is though, with CCP I just don't care. I don't spend money on their products, but I'm not opposed to starting again if something drastically changes down the line. There are too many awesome games out and coming out for me to invest that kind of energy into caring anymore.
If it doesn't work out, I'll just play something else. It's what I've been doing for years now, and it's only getting better. My bitching won't make CCP communicate any better, God knows I've done enough of it since Closed Beta.
