Did you ever hear the Tradegy of Darth Plagueis the Wise?
I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith so powerful and so wise, he could use the Force to influence the midi-chlorians to create...life. He had such a knowledge of the Dark Side, he could even keep the ones he cared about...from dying.

Darth Plageuis is still canon since he was mentioned in Ep 3. Old comics and stuff aren't canon anymore.There's still stuff that's still canon such as the Republic Commandoes even though games are considered legends now.
The RC are still canon becaues they appeared in a star wars clone wars episode.

Sev being left for dead / sacrificing himself is no longer canon.
