CCP has failed it's community, many times actually. That's why I and a lot of my friends stopped playing this game years ago because every patch it got worse and worse, once in awhile they take a step in the right direction, the next they take 2 steps back. If I remember correctly didn't CCP have a "x" year plan? Believe it was 5 or more? They showed that they had the full intent of making Dust a long term game however they drove off it's playerbase with horrible development.
Wasn't the wars over planets supposed to be the main attraction to the game? Because as I remember it, it was the laggiest match to play in and had very little rewards. Shouldn't there have been a reason to hold planets? But there really wasn't, many clans kept playing while ignoring the lagfest and had some fun. SOME FUN... Not enough, it was fine for awhile but good god how long can you play a game that plays as if it's in a never-ending beta?
And if it ever got better they clearly didn't make it good enough because still it's playerbase was dwindling.
Initially I was VERY excited for this game after having been playing EVE for years beforehand and being into shooter games. I knew how CCP took care of EVE and since they were going to make Dust integrated with EVE I thought that maybe they would show continuous support. Not the case.
There are so many things that this game could've excelled at but failed on such terrible levels.
I had a good time with this game and glad we all at least had the chance to play it, hell for a free game and all, but wow is it disappointing to hear that they gave up on it so easily. To be fair I did see it coming after awhile, it lost too much attraction and they took too long to "finish" the game (if they did).
Just imagine if they had held back on the release date and actually gave a fully done and polished game.

At least a port to PS4 and a real nice update could've got some attention, but probably too little to late anyway. What a joke.
Want to know why I'm here? Because it bothers me to see developers give up on games that they promised it's community they would keep adding to for years to come. Because as someone who LOVES video games, year after year I lose more faith in the gaming industry because of companies that pull cash grab moves from people. Yet, what annoys me about people like you, is that you're probably the type of person who contributes to the problem by buying unfinished games and allowing them to fail it's community only to turn around and support their next game, keeping the cycle going. Then you have the nerve to turn around and imply that it's the communities fault. I could be wrong? But seems that way from where I'm sitting.
The only reason I'm here is to voice my opinion because I'm ashamed of CCP after seeing a post about them shutting down the game on facebook. Yet, you think I'm here because it's a great game? I quit the game years ago because I got tired of logging on update after update, wishing to finally see something that CCP promised us, only to be disappointed and irritated with constant steps in the wrong direction. |

You can go ahead and support their next game, whatever, many will. But it's laughable for you to sit there and blame the community for CCPs lack of support on the game.[/quote]

To be fair I did see it coming after awhile, it lost too much attraction and they took too long to "finish" the game (if they did). Just imagine if they had held back on the release date and actually gave a fully done and polished game. Back to wishing MAG 2 could happen. As an EvE player, my first glimpse of Dust, and the reason for its existence, was to allow people to fight in stations and on the ground to support and participate in, the wars that were already happening in space. We were expecting that Planetary Interaction (PI) installations could and would be attacked by Dusters as part of this, and that it would greatly enrich the EvE universe.
None of that happened. Absolutely NONE. Instead we got just another lobby shooter (JALS) which was in fact not as good in many ways as many of the others out there, and far less enjoyable because of the typical EvE learning curve and skill training, watered down though they were for Dust. There would have been a point to that if in fact Dust was properly integrated into EvE as in fact it was meant to be but right from the start it was kept separate, at least partly because of the EvE community's dislike of Walking in Stations (WiS) which was going to allow real battles on stations as on the ground, as well as the opportunity to build commercial venues like shops, kiosks, etc, that could be frequented if ever they fixed the atmosphere on the other side of that damned door...
So Dust may eventually (and I don't think this is a given) find its way into some form of FPS on the PC, but I really don't think it's going to be any more integrated into the EvE universe than is Valkyrie. Will we get to finally fight battles in space as well as on the ground? I don't think so. As such I'm not really very interested in seeing how this turns out. Being on PC, there will now be a monthly charge to play, which people have already said they don't want - but it may attract a different audience. If in fact it IS integrated into EvE, perhaps existing EvE players will be able to use their existing accounts to use their existing EvE pilots in whatever becomes of Dust on the PC. If they can't, I don't think I'll be interested. |

Clearly you need to work on your reading comprehension bud. You should go get hooked on phonics. I'm here because I care about gaming in general and it's disappointing to see yet another company fail it's community by not delivering the support they promised and I feel better voicing my opinion on their failure instead of being a pitiful pawn who goes "yeah, whatever, that's ok I'll buy your next product like a good little boy".
Cool story indeed, bro. |

I will point out the same could be said of those of us who spent time working with them on the forums. Not to mention playtime.
And those poor saps who spent hundreds of dollars on this game.
CCP deserves some of the blame here. Make no mistake.
