I was wondering, how much time will it take to see the first hacks that would catastrophically destroy the whole experience Ccp thought working with outdated hardware was rough. Just wait. If you think there won't be some salty folks waiting for it to release, you already failed. I predict this will be a catastrophe. The PR for dust is already bad enough. Now this.
The lack of understanding is unreal...... This is the best thing that could have happened to happen to DUST, and EVE has ZERO hack issues. The alternative was GONE FOREVER. |

O.O At best, you don't have any clue of what an FPS on PC is EVE has the exact same opportunities for hacks and cheats as any other PC game, and it's been at best a dull background murmur for 10 years. The most recent I can remember is the a drone stacking buff glitch ... oh, year ago or more? It was quickly straightened out and was never that much of an issue. PS3 is literally the only reason CCP hasn't put a lid on what's been going on in DUST. It's going to be significantly smoother on the new platform. I clearly agree on Dust being smoother (much smoother) on PC. But in an FPS is much harder to track cheaters: I'm not talking about obious cheats like infinite isks or infinite health, but "wisely" used cheats. If you have an aimbot, and you start killing hundreds of people miles away, it would be obvious and you would be banned sooner or later, but if you use it "wisely", in standard situations, it would be much less obvious, but it would still ruin the experience for all other players. Considering the very high competition level in Eve, people will always abuse this kind of things to get an advantage.
You have exactly ZERO idea what you are talking about. It is a simple matter to detect cheating on any tier one FPS on a PC. Ill let you console lovers know a little secret....its easier to cheat on a console. There are a myriad of already existing cheats for console games not the least of which is the ever-present lag switching we see now. You DO NOT SEE THOSE ON COD OR DESTINY for the PC. It checks your software are boot, at lobby, at load, and randomly during play. If you don't match...bingo. You get kicked, and a free reinstall. PC is not plagued by cheaters, but this game currently is.
Sorry you are butt hurt about it no longer being a console shooter , but in truth you're not really the audience they are looking for anyway. They want an EVE like experience with EVE like revenue streams. Console players don't provide that, and the consoles don't provide the longevity needed to have a "forever" game like EVE in the form of a FPS. |
