Why not just tell the people right away, as they had the right to know. It's not like we were given much notice anyway.
Were you afraid of losing your voluntary spot on on a sham council, on a game that has a definite expiration date? Sad, that all of you were puppets until the end. Breaking NDA can have legal consequences.
People that have never been under one don't understand that.
After reading through the now 13 pages kn this thread, i do have to say I'm pretty proud of how the community is handling the news this time. I think CCP and us mercs learned how valuable being respectful is to keeping interaction going.
Granted this statement opens up so many more questions now that the cat(merc) is out of the bag.
Where do we sign up for alpha/beta and the DUST: PHOENIX LEGION forums?
My Rattati, my Ratatti, why have you abandoned me?

bruh, you failed hard on PS3 with almost no competition, but you guys think you can compete on PC? hilarious... and thats if the prototype doesnt crash and burn like Legion, fun times.-
Uh, don't mean to tell you this, but PC is like their turf. They can handle competing on the PC, trust me. EVE Online is a testament to that. Not FPS PC. Been talking with a number of old friends who hack fulltime in PS2/Arma and they intend to give CCP an incredibly difficult time. I can't say I didn't warn everyone numerous times that this would happen. They can try, but I don't think they'd be able to. I don't see any hackers in EVE: Online that are not permabanned, do you? Hacking FPS is way easier. None of the modifications need to even effect the client. Meanwhile hacking EVE doesn't do anything without falsifying packets and that's far easier to detect from CCP's end. Simply put, a storm is coming and I highly doubt they are ready for it. They think PC is a better platform because its easier to develop for. What they are not taking into account is the additional security force they will have to hire on. Ultimately, this was a stupid, stupid, stupid decision.
Do you remember World of Warcrafts law suit against lazybot? Where the complaint was lazybot was a script-determined automated "character" program that allowed for full automation of in game tasks like mining, crafting and selling without actually changing the wow-client. Wow said it was against tos and eula, lazy bot countered with no client changes, interactions, doesn't break eula, wow countered with the "warden drm" sleeper component. A wow plug in that scanned your RAM for programs and extensions that fell onto a certain catch list. Lazybot countered with invasion of privacy, wow said their ip, their eula, their drm. The courts sided wirh wow, and mega-drm eras were born.
I'm sure you're buddies are skilled, but i have a feeling CCP AP will be talking a few pages out of Acti-Blizzards play book.

You will enjoy PS2 on PS4 then. Base building is already on test (they have a public test server!). It is still a class based shooter with some vertical and ridiculous horizontal progression. Handy guide for everyone to help the DUST 514 => Planetside 2 transition continued: Amarr => Vanu Sovereignty Caldari => New Conglomerate Galante => Terran Republic Minmitar => Starmade you have Galante and Caldari backwards
He was trying to line up technology and the "familiar feel" of weapons, not lore ideologies.

If PC gamers can simply hack a game as big as gta 5 with ease, the new PC FPS is in for a very very horrible gameplay experience.
Be prepared to see the game down on a daily basis due to hackers and modders.
Be prepared to see players adding mods glitches bugs hacks and everything else that comes along with pc games.
Not possible on the console. At least specifically what i am talking about.
I am just going to be laughing.
The PC will hold their first person shooter back even more then the ps3 and thats sad.
MARK MY WORDS.
This new fps they are bring is going to be so fludded with mods and hacks your not even going to want to play.
I will try but i already know, from playing other FPS on the PC. Very easily hacked and modded on PC's.
Worst possible platform for a FPS.
You do realise that in order for all of that to happen, someone has to be able to modify server side values as most info for EVE is held server side. How exactly are they going to modify data that they cant access? So what you dont think there are access points? You really need to learn about server side injection. Anything on the PC is super easily modded. My job is IT for a living. Do me a favor and go to a hacker forum and just read up on hacking pc's server based games. Yall really have no clue do you. MARK MY WORDS x2! Worst possible FPS games are on PC. Server side values are easily injected. Its might only last for that session or lobby. But its so frigging easy a little 10 year old could do it. never said it wasn't possible. However, it is as easy as you say, why has eve not suffered from this greatly in the past few years? Saying that putting an FPS on pc is going to ruin it or that it is a bad idea is silly, cos it isn't. look at games like counter strike which people mod to the high heavens yet its still one of the most popular FPS games available. Are you kidding eve gets hacked and modded all the time i have witnessed it dozens of times myself. No offense. FPS are one of the easiest games to be modded on PC. Thats why its a bad choice. Sure modded sessions can be fun and stuff but where is the skill in that. Just ruins the actual gameplay experience. Oh lets do a invincible mod, yeah very highly skill based if you cant die. They are basically throwing everything that made Dust, Dust away. There will be no competition, no skill or anything of that nature when its on PC, to many modders. Sure it will be fun, but nothing close to the original dust 514. MARK MY WORDS x3!
