I am happy that Legion will still be a reality. I played DUST with a KB/M anyway and played mostly tanks because AA on the KB/M was non existent and I could only snipe effectively in suits.
I played DUST in Beta and would be willing to Beta test Legion if CCP is looking for testers.
See you on the other side fellas! Legion isn't a thing neither is its forum. This is a new game. Why do they keep restarting. And why the can on 1.3?
Better to start over with a stable foundation than try and build ontop on something existing.
No point on pouring hours into 1.3 when the server goes offline in a little over 3months.
At least the server hamsters can finally rest. Poor little guys worked so hard.

All I'm asking for in any 'transfer' is my character names reserved, controller support so I don't have to use KB/M and the presence of a Sentinel suit and Forge Gun or equivalents. Maybe some sort of a badge or shiny profile thing that says I was a Dust merc.
If those are all covered, hell, I might actually follow this to PC. Would still prefer a PS4 port to go along with Eternal Crusade's PS4 release.
For the record, I don't care about SP or ISK, or even BPOs and SKINs. I'm all for a fresh start on an even footing.

Why not just tell the people right away, as they had the right to know. It's not like we were given much notice anyway.
Were you afraid of losing your voluntary spot on on a sham council, on a game that has a definite expiration date? Sad, that all of you were puppets until the end.
More like not wanting to get sued and/or serve jail time for violating a legally binding NDA

CCP does not intentionally mislead players, they do not go out of their way to exploit them. Take that from me, of all people, and you might know that to be true. CCP goes a -long way- to making sure the highest respect for their player base with the current team (and they should not be held responsible for the sins of their predecessors). This announcement is evidence of that. They didn't wait for Fanfest for a big reveal, they didn't wait for E3 or some other marketing frenzy, they didn't go straight to the Eve players - they came to you first in a format you're most familiar.
But most of all, they didn't have to. That courtesy has become expected of them when, as far as I know, they're the only non-indie developer that takes the time to engage their community and receive feedback on things that the community really isn't 100% necessary for.
I appreciate that they came here first, and that they didn't wait for FF (even if they had been working on this quite awhile, but I understand why they waited). What I can't understand, with all their caution in not wanting to say anything before something more concrete was in place, is why even discuss 1.3 and allow the CPM to mention they were working on it, if they weren't sure they were going to release it? And why, seeing as how they created an expectation of 1.3s release, they couldn't release it in some form or fashion as a thank you to the community. As it stands, there are a lot of people, who spent many hours not only playing the game, but arguing, creating spreadsheets, and even websites to help better the game, who as a whole helped with both Dust and indirectly Dust 2.0, who will not be in any way, shape, or form be able to reap any rewards for their efforts. 1.3 could have been both a "thank you" and "sorry you can't come with us, we value you" I dunno about you, but I generally don't eat pizza - regardless of how delicious it looks - after the cat sits on it. So this is all Cat Mercs fault? Yes No wonder that pizza tasted funky

If there's none that's fine, I've had my eye on "Jadek Menaheim" for a while now. They're probably going to prevent low loyalty rank/warpoint alts from going forward to the PC version. This may free up some names which could allow you to scoop up variations of my name that I claimed a long time ago to prevent people from messing with my name in the Dust player market. Day one is going to be a mad dash for name grabs depending on how easy it is to set up accounts. I can finally not have Xx's in front and behind my name. I shall be so happy. No one forced you to put those there... Actually, at the time, Blaziken was taken. So that explains the likes.

Certainly wont trust it. far too many unfinished features, and this is the second dust on pc promised. another legion vaporware? VR Dust? who knows? Legion was being programmed with the same modified version of Unreal 3 that DUST 514 was built on. It was dropped when they decided to produce the new FPS using Unreal 4. For those of us who are hoping for a long running persistent FPS MMO, building it on current technology, rather than a heavily customized old engine, and trying to avoid some of the core game issues which made DUST unsuitable for long term evolution, is a good thing. DUST 514 is like the Hyundai Veloster. It looks like a sports car, but it is build on a cheep crappy compact Accent frame. No matter how much work they do on it, they can't make a real sports car unless the start from scratch with a better frame to support it. The new New Eden FPS will be built on a better frame, using all the experience they gained from DUST 514. I think we can be fairly confident that it will be better than DUST both in looks and performance. And if Rattati is involved, the weapon balance will be vastly better than it was in DUST 514 or release.
At the very least, we'd better have the racial gear we've been missing forever.

Script kiddies are the folks that downloads products hackers make. Far too often most script kiddies dont know how the hack works.
99% of people who claim they hack are script kiddies. There was a good article yesterday about someone in the Counter Strike community making a product specifically designed to get people banned. Apparently, the download would work as normal for a period, allowing the player to cheat, then after a specified amount of time, the code would launch an auto bannable offense. He was able to take down several thousand cheaters. It was really an ingenious way to fight some of the cheating by a random player. Maybe EVE: Phoenix will have someone like that.
Might make some cheaters think twice.

At least let us know if we will be able to get a port to ps4 in the next 1-5 years... CCP will give us more details and answers at FanFest in April. Soon... My heart is still breaking. I've made some good friends here. My guess is that when Dust is gone and the hype (for lack of a better word) for this new games dwindles, CCP will fall silent. God only knows for how long. I'm happy about news of the new game but CCP has given themselves a bad reputation with most of the Dust community. A lot of players are going to wonder if CCP can/will deliver on this. We all have questions and CCP is doing a great job of keeping silent. I don't know when, or even if, this new game will drop but I would guess 2-3 years.
To be honest, this "new game" isn't the first to interest me but be produced by a company with a less than sterling track record. The other game, Eternal Crusade, is shaping up well despite setbacks and, if Ratatti is at the helm of (or at least majorly involved with) the new EVE shooter, then it too might have a chance at turning out right.
At this point, our only real option is to wait and see.
