In the market it would be nice if we could have a 1K aur service that would reset the weekly cap. Reasons for it
- if you play a lot you can still gain SP even after that SP cap.
- It will help CCP earn a little more money to keep the game alive for a bit longer.
I see no reason not too.

It's bad enough we can triple stack Boosters (3 Active Omega's means the amount of SP you can earn in a week is about 3m, excluding instant boosts) we don't need an on-demand cap reset as well.

It does not make a difference only frustrates people when they hit there weekly soft cap. Also there are some daily missions that can only be complete if you don't hit the weekly cap. I mean at this point It could help blue berries if they put 5 bucks into the game.
Also I want point out on the OP it also helps CCP earn more cash and does not break the game play in game. Only makes you gain SP faster. That will not hurt anyone only make them happier.

1) Who is frustrated at hitting weekly SP cap? I do not recall a plethora of outcries when that happens, nor a deluge of threads like this one requesting something be done about weekly SP cap.
2) How little do you know about game design that you think the rate of SP gained is not figured into balance and design?
CCP can do a ton of things to make DUST514 worthy of spending money on, they have simply chosen not too(so far, 1.3, blah blah blah, I'll believe it when I see it).

OPs idea isn't bad.

The cap is reset server-side for all players, you cannot reset it for just one character.

Well, so much for the whole idea of buying for a reset. Guess you'll have to wait and see what CCP will do in the next game for PC. In the meantime, I look forward to enjoying my final days in Dust by running proto/officer all month in May until there I run out of ISK and assets. Then I will delete the client from my PS3 so I can have room to install Mirror's Edge. Meanwhile, I look forward to hearing what CCP has planned for how (and how much) of my character data might get transferred if at all to the new game.

I will be honest with you. I have forum warriored since closed beta and I still do to this very day and I have only seen a lot of people complain about the weekly SP cap waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when the weekly cap was about 170,000 SP/week.
Then CCP buffed the cap to over 700,000 SP per week and gave us the ability to instant boost and triple stack boosters which only ADD to the weekly SP gained (not drain it faster as some would think). And that's not accounting for the SP you get from Daily Missions and Daily Logins plus the SP you get from your personal warbarge which anyone can buff up to a sufficient level without paying a single penny in AUR (trust me, I know).
Since the buff to the weekly SP cap, only an extremely small number of individual players have ever complained about not being able to get anymore SP from the weekly cap. And that's only because they no-lifed the **** out of the game which makes them an even smaller minority within the community while everyone else is still struggling to even reach the cap.
As for the whole "it helps CCP earn more cash" argument, I will state the following:
True, it would give CCP such a large amount of money, and I know CCP knows this. But they chose not to for the sake of gameplay. Now that Dust 514 is officially going to shutdown in May 30 which is after Fanfest 2016 I can now say with absolute certainty that this idea of paying for a reset of the weekly cap is never going to happen in Dust 514. And since CCP has now removed all of the merc packs from the NPC marketplace this only solidifies that fact.
As for any possibility of implementing this idea for the New Eden FPS for PC, I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. We don't know what kind of SP progression system that new game will use and whether or not a weekly cap would even exist at all.
So sit back, relax, and enjoy the final days of Dust 514.
Cheers,
Your Fellow Capsuleer Overlord
