I am ******* buying a PS4 for that game alone. My rationale of only buying a console if 3 games I want are on it can't hold up against the game series that I fell in love with when I was 12. I'm going to have to exert all my willpower to avoid buying a PSVR along with it seeing as the announcement trailer mentioned VR support. Steam's massive library of content has the disadvantage of meaning that anything that isn't some kind of indie flash game that gets all over Facebook and the news gets left in the Dust. Have you heard of Angels Fall First? Used to be an Unreal Tournament total-conversion-mod, and now it's a full game. Great gameplay, vehicle and suit customization a lot like Dust, and even the ability to fly and board massive spacecraft during live play. It still doesn't have a lot of players compared to other titles on Steam. Dust 514 as it was meant to be could probably pull off the several million on users CCP wanted on PS4, but on Steam it'd get maybe 100k EVE players running it on their second/third monitor, and everyone else would just keep playing Papers, Please and Undertale. Luckily, it would appear the dedication of the fanbase has secured them funding to make another proper Ace Combat title. The first of the series I played was Ace Combat 04. I fell madly in love with the storytelling and universe, and I jumped on Ace Combat 5 as soon as it came out, following that up with Ace Combat 2 and 3 when a friend got me those PS1 games. Should have been more clear...keep forgetting that Assassin's Creed is still a thing that is also abbreviated AC I too started with 4, went to 5, immediately went out to find Zero...I haven't played the old ones (although I have played the 3ds remake that was released under the title Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy)...but I've played 6, which was great other than them running out of good sounding names for things xD. Assault Horizon was an interesting break in the series, I don't hate it, but it wasn't amazing like the others. Infinity is a bit like they said "Let's mash all the old games into the Assault Horizon universe, remove DFM/ASM, and add in ALL THE PLANES!" Overall, Infinity is a great time-waster...and you can buy the campaign flat out instead of using the Fuel and Credit system to unlock the missions, and is all good fun (nothing quite beats the PvP events...shooting down High-Specs in my F-14) 5 and Zero remain my favorite of the series, on equal footing (which should tell you how good Zero is). I take it you are a fan of the X-02? I'm a huge fan of the ADF-01 oh, and sorry about derailing the thread Umm...on topic part of the post: Once again, Multi-platform is preferable for me...I don't want to deny the main groups into the game. Not just port. actually even with a 1:1 port to PS4, you'd still be getting a myriad of content that was removed, or not put into the game but is, in theory, ready to go. Without the hardware limitations of the PS3, you'd be able to get all the vehicles that were removed like the marauder HAVs and logistics dropships (which would help balance them among each other for balanced vehicles), more powerful RAM and GPUs would allow for exponentially larger battlespaces bringing back Skirmish 1.0 which would actually give tanks and other vehicles raison d'etre (something they lack, especially tanks) thus balancing them further, and otherwise revitalizing the game without having to do any ambitious or risky additions to the game like PVE or ship/station boarding, etc. That alone would turn an OK game into a better game with minimal effort. DUST 514 is still a pretty solid game (there are many worse games out there in the same genre like Blacklight and Ghost Recon: Phantoms), and even as is, serves as a good base to build from. of course there are things like myofibril stimulants and whatnot that need to be changed, but thats a stats issue, not a hardware one. A lot of the UI and environment/mechanics issues such as geometry clipping, hit detection/movement animation, and map size will easily be fixed with porting to better hardware. *De Opresso Liber* Beta Vet since 2/5/2013

The problem isn't multiplatforms but more cross play between the three and the quickness of receiving updates. Warframe is a good example of this. They had to pay Sony and Microsoft megabucks just to allow PC users to have a one time chance to transfer stuff (MR levels, weapons, suits, platnium) from their PC account to their console account. If they (Microsoft and Sony) went to that extent to do that, is it not reasonable to assume that they will not support crossplay? And that was for a 48 hour period. On top of that, updating a PC game is quicker and easier than consoles and they don't have to go through a certification process. For crossplay to be achievable, first you need to have all versions of the game up to date with each other. The work around would be to release the update for the PC the day both the Xbox and PS4 versions are certified. This is highly unlikely as both consoles certify at different rates. Sometimes the Xbox is finished its certification before the PS4, sometimes the PS4 finishes first. Now I am not saying PC is the best (honestly I don't give a damn about console wars, just want to game), and I am not saying that it's not a good idea, however what I am saying is that PC is the best option. The tech can be constantly update and the content can come out faster. Once Sony and Microsoft stop their d.ck measuring contest, which has roped all the PS and Xbox Fanboys into it, then maybe we can start to think of multiplatforms and cross play.
