Better than can be said for some games, MIRITE?
If this post is against Forum Guidelines, then please delete it, but I'm pretty sure most of the people that still play dust either can't afford a PS4, or have no interest in one, so I don't view TD as a competing product.
Very different games from the looks of it anyway, if they upped the player count it would end up between Bf conquest and the nonexistent dust drone maps. There looks to be much promise though, I know I have been looking forward to the game since old times. It seems seamless in many regards, with loading screens only being a penalty of death. Combat looks borderlands/destiny like. I'm excited to try it and I think many of the old timers would make good squad mates. I'll be the one camping high points with a gernade launcher and mobile spawn points. 07

Nearing the end of the Beta everyone was just tanking, combat was fun up until then. Beta had a huge amount of the skill/perks/talents tree locked, with those open there'll be much more variety in builds and flexibility in purpose/playstyle-specific builds. Suppose so. Forgot about that. My experience with the Beta was just non-stop healing. Think they're having an Open Beta this month, so hopefully they allow us try out more stuff.
Beta was non-stop healing/scan because that was the best setup for unorganized teams given the situation. Obviously there will be more... If they don't put a snare spell in, the game is at least slightly broken from the start. Obviously there will be AoE damage spells("skills" for the target market). Both of those abilities represent different play styles( order and chaos) that Ubisoft/massive are clearly trying to explore through what was shown in the beta. I'm not sure what other skills they included.
I'm hoping for some counter spell/spellsteal/silence type abilities in the tech tree... "No." and "?!? Mine!" are two of the most balancing reactions that a player can have. When correctly implemented, it is far more difficult to royally screw balance if there is a meta-option that either denies or co-ops the imba.
I'm looking forward to seeing what they have chosen. |
