I.... I don't play anymore. Should I just make a retirement thread?
I mean, it's not like I haven't thought of returning. But that would depend on a lot of factors, like how active is PC in general, are pubs still crap, how many of my old homeboys still play, is the lag still as horrendous as ever, if I can actually get a PS3.
Would anyone care to talk me out of it?

That's a bit of a long story.
Many people who post here in the WR actually are retired, yet we continually come here to do crap like relive old times and talk about those young whippersnappers who don't know how to cut it the way we did. Think of us as old people, and you guys as those youngun's who constantly trespass on our lawns.
Dust is one of those games that is pretty much trash, but for some reason, we can't absolutely up and leave. We have roots here, the wars in dust are like no other game. We want to leave and never think of dust again, yet we can't.
And as you can see from the eloquent post of sir Cuse Town333, you can also see that there are several different forms of old people.
Cuse is the grumpy grandpa who tells you to get the hell out of his house or make him a bowl of oatmeal, and plays checkers in highwater pants. He also thoroughly enjoys calling the youngun's trash and tells them how he did it in the good old days.
I'm the type of grandpa that has dementia and will often get sidetracked from the real topic and talk about some other crap. I also enjoy talking about the good old days. I also like to bake desserts. I make a mean almond cake.

Well, you're mostly right on some stuff. Jake has actually, to my knowledge, been alongside many pilots. I've dueled him a few times, twas good fun.
The next part comes down to opinion to be honest. My personal opinion is that there is no best, the best implies to me that you have no more room to improve. There's always room for improvement.
I don't normally get involved in these types of threads, seeing as the only valid opinion I'd have is towards ADS pilots. But I'm going to list some of my favorites:
As far as Python purist goes, I'd say that in this regard there are a few that jump to mind:
Sir Snugglz: Hands down, he's usually a better python than I am. He's my favorite duel in the python category
Parthok: I haven't seen him in a rail inky in.... I'm not sure if I ever have. I'd say that we're about toe to toe on that.
Demandred: Despite the amount of crap he stirs up in the WR, he's really very good. Great pilot to fly with.
Shepard Grey: From what I hear, he flies and FC's at the same time. I've done that, it's not easy.
As far as Incubus pure goes, I'd say these guys should get mention:
Shamarskii Simon: Not well known to the PC community, but if he got in PC as a rail, he'd cause quite the devastation. He's also my favorite duelist in the rail category.
White Lion: He's definitely my favorite bodyguard in PC whenever I flew with rockets.
Jamaican Kid: Highly annoying rail, and one hell of a fighter.
There are also the hybrid category, fighters that can perform both great:
Lions-Fan6888: He is probably my favorite wingman to fly with. Played with and against him many times, can attest he's hard to kill, and when we fought together, we usually went toe to toe on scores (if we were running same role).
Quasar Storm: Chilled with him once, reminds me of me, but Canadian. Amazingly annoying pilot/tanker. Wish I could've dueled him more often. 
Pro Tanker: He is kind of a chode at times, but he's definitely a good fighter. In fact, one of the best combos I've seen in pilots comes with him and Parthok.

Cubs/high times were the most competent game leadership that I have encountered. I would put Reg as GOAT. Wasn't always the mvp, but was consistently excellent for vastly differing groups. He made everyone around him better. Not ignoring the skill of protoman or James, but there just isn't the body of work in 16v16 matches for the two. It would be like putting Barry Sanders as GOAT... He probably was, but we will never know for sure. Reg was Jerry Rice. Legend deserves some mention for tanking, he carried a team to the finals when people still tried... Snuggles or foxhound, but probably snuggles. Foxhound was more useful to teams because he relayed information too and participated more. Snuggles popularized the viability of ADS and was supreme at it. There are certain roles that are not debatable. Blaster tanking goes to The Legend...hands down. I would place my boy demzor up there (cause i've seen him wreck everyone) but i dont like to mention my RND brethren cause it'll look biased. But back on track, twins were the best scouts..hands down. Assault could be anyone....you can make an argument for everyone from OSGR to sgtnoneck, akrem, extacy, frost kitty, etc. People usually give best rail to slap but didnt Takashiro (englishsname) **** him in that RS vs Imp match? I mean, i dont know specifics but i do know slap went 0-5 and the killfeed read Taka taking him out. Not to mention that i've never seen Sgt Nova take an L as a rail tanker. There were many great heavies too...cant say one stood above all else. Same thing with ads pilots...however i do believe fiddle when he said snugglez brought it mainstream.

Agreed, there were many good pilots before us but none of them were PC active so they fell under the cracks plus the fact the at the time the derpship was seen as a waste of slot in PC team composition. It was a pleasure fighting against you, but it was more fun being on the same side. It was always more difficult to find a wingman over a nemesis. Not gonna lie, I always wanted the fighter and when logi bro told me that it aint happenning thats when I left. The ADS was just suppose to be a placeholder. But I enjoyed it.
To be honest, I enjoyed fighting you more than flying with you. That's not to say I didn't enjoy flying with you, it was definitely awesome hearing you talk all soothing while you had anime shows go on and shooting the crap out of helpless reds was a blast. Hell, one of my favorite memories was when you and I were in a squad of six derpships and nearly crashed into each other multiple times.
Incidentally, do you intend to play the "possible" game they're replacing Dust with? My plan was to duel you and another rail pilot one last time for nostalgia, but I may not be able to do that in time.

Heimy plays a lot like me... we think a lot alike, go to the same objectives, similar routes, but I've always been more aggressive as Dust is boring as ****.
Hey now, I won't take you dissing my boy Soul Eater there. I mean, that guy is a heavy diva! I've fought against him multiple times, and I've never once seen him once lose a bullet in an enemies body, so watch your damn mouth!
