Would it be a good idea for vehicles to be recalled with an RDV instead of just disappearing? The RDV comes in, picks up the recalled vehicle, and goes away, reverse of the deployment. It would be more realistic and cool, at least in my opinion.
For every kill there is a death, and for every win there is a loss.

would be cool if you killed it and that would blow up the vehicle trying to be recalled! I like it +1

If it reduces recall time then... Yeah! It would be nice to recall quickly, and let the rdv finish the job of pick up and removal.

The only issue is the already dumb RDV AI. They have issues dropping vehicles off, even after several attempts to fix them, I dread to think what they'd be like trying to pick up a vehicle without killing it.

There are (always will be, I think) two attitudes towards ideas like that. I wouldn't say they are meant to add "realism" to the gameplay---I think it's better to say they are meant to add more intricacy or "challenge" to the gameplay.
Like, restoring the voice that used to say "RDV requested--ETA, 15 seconds"... which adds the challenge of having to wait when you're in a hurry to receive your vehicle.
Like, restoring the "armour burn" to your vehicle, that used to rob your vehicle of its chance to escape death (even though you slipped away before they could destroy you----you have 10 seconds to park the thing and repair the armour, or the fire will consume it with you and passengers in it.
Like, restoring the ability to kill an RDV with five or six hits from a Railgun Installation---so the enemy with good eyes could potentially rack up a tone of wp killing the RDV that's bringing your vehicle, and having your vehicle fall on you and your buddies.
I am from the player-attitude that LIKES your idea. It complicates the battlefield, makes the RDV moments more dangerous, more time consuming, and more fun. Makes you THINK more carefully about your vulnerability when calling a drop.
But many other players DON'T want Dust to be hard. They want it easier than it is right now. They just wanna shoot and blow stuff up without much hard work at all. ...So my vote doesn't go very far.
Universe of good wishes for the 49, especially CCP Eterne...
