I play with aim assist but it's just because it makes me more lethal, I guess...I don't think it would make too much of a difference for me, but I do think it would make the combat rifle and rail rifles less 'OP'. If you have anything good to say, feel free, cause I just ran out of ideas...
First off rail rifles don't get **** from the aim assist if you strafe....The rate of fire is way too slow to reap the benefit. The combat rifle, assault rifle, and sadly HMG benefit the most from it. That being said, I would love to see this become a real FPS not "Dancing with the Tards" by dropping the aim assist. This is the only FPS I play where its smarter to be in the open running in a circle than taking cover. Add the latino lag to it and about half the scrubs still here take a full clip and half a reload to kill in the open. If they fixed either let alone both the game would lose half its players. Sadly those guys that rely on strafing aren't very good at most FPS games and stay on DUST because they have found an exploit that allows them to perform better than they usually do when playing polished games. Try that crap in any tier 1 release and you die real fast. |

Soto Gallente wrote:There are not many fpses without aim assist, why should this be different? I can tell you right now the Aim assist here is much stronger and stickier than any Tier 1 game you will play. Just let an invisible scout jump in front of your reticle and watch it track 2/3 of the screen. Aim assist is one thing, but the ability to ignore cover and circle strafe is just ********. When have you ever played another FPS game where the strategy for shooting the other guy involved taking your thumb off one of the control sticks and just letting the reticle pull to them??? |

Pokey Dravon wrote:So basically...you want to remove the mechanic that helps people cope with poor hit detection and lag which is most problematic when fighting your personal playstyle?
Aim assist copes for neither of these sadly. Lots of guys who crutch the circle strafe try this argument, but it does not make you land more shots on opponents you otherwise have your reticle on. It just pulls your reticle to them, and if they are laggy or abusing speed fits/myos it does not make more bullets land than if you aimed on them other wise. It just makes this game a joke to other FPS game players. Show someone you know a mk.0 dancing in the open with an assault combat rifle and watch them tell you how bad a game has to be for that to be a tactic. COVER blocks bullets in most games not magical dance moves. |

If only the ROF were raised back up.......its way to slow now. Used to be pop pop..dead scout. Now its pop windup...respawn because the scout got the second shot off first. |
