Lol yew people ;P
Off topic: f2p, yo. You didn't buy anything because you had to. Your perception of justification doesn't make reality. AUR is optional. You can argue you feel you need to use it to get somewhere, but you are still choosing to spend money ..to play a free game. If that's need, life will be sad.
Arch: thanks for posting. Sorry kats are bitching at you directly as if you're the Decider.

Stay on point. You're smarter than that. The initial, singular argument was that dust is not f2p because of ..stuff. Stuff is irrelevant as it's optional beyond the free to play game. Analogies are pointless and do not negate that simple fact---to play the game, you are not required to spend a dime.
I never said a thing about being or not being customers. Make your complaints then. I'm fine with that too, though I have my opinions on that. I'm not see a connection on f2p. Maybe that's me?
*Edit* I assume you were responding to me. If not, mybad. Still applies though I think.

You WANT people to complain about the quality of a product because that means they CARE, which means they SPEND, which means YOU (random player) gets to play FREE.

Still doesn't change that for you to play, you are under no obligation to spend money. That's the argument, nothing more. If you want to argue semantics, then the developer technically pays in R&D on the gamble that a percentage of players might one day purchase optional in-game perks. Still, the game is free to the indivual user. Period.
To the first line of logic: it's opinion. Neither right or wrong, unless it's perceived one way or the other. Is that possible? Sure. Just as the opinion of spending money implies positive reinforcement and not spending money is somehow punishment to deter negative development.
I'm only beating you, dear, because I think you could have done a better job cooking dinner tonight. Do better, and I won't have to hit you anymore. After all, I'm smacking you because ...well, because I love you, dear.

Still applies though I think. You are missing a really important point. The player that buys AUR to use in the game is the player that is pissed off at not being able to play. It doesn't have to be you. All your arguments about whether or not it's their choice to pay for stuff mean nothing to them, if they're not happy. If you think what I'm talking about applies to me, you're sadly mistaken. I run largely starter BPO fits, and couldn't give a damn whether the game is up or not. I've paid a little real money to buy some BPOs, but that's hardly a big issue to me.
Your arguments don't change the fundamental issue that people are not happy that the servers are acting up. In fact, if anything, your arguments are probably making people angrier. |

No. I'm not missing that point. I'm not arguring that a disgruntled player should not be disgruntled, or complain. The only argument from me is that the game is in fact f2p to an individual player. I thought I was pretty clear on that. I'm not sure how this one point keeps sliding around itself.

Did I say anything to that point? No. My very simple argument was that DUST is f2p---as in you are not required to buy AUR to log in and play. This was in reaction to you (or whoever it was) claimimg the game is not f2p.
That's the only argument I am making.

Nah, son, naaaaaah. Well, this is one of the reasons this 'silence' is there in the first place. Because no matter what we say, some people just go and choose to hear whatever they want - something they can then be offended at. We say left, they hear right.
Reasonable analysis and some what justifiable response... If you guys actually had a somewhat decent track record.
Your analogy should go more to lines of: CCP says left hand , CCP gives us right baby toe
