A lot of Dust players left,but at that time EVE players celebrated. This was,of course,before Dust became "profitable". (Short sighted members of CCP expected an immediate successful return.) Taking into account that new profitability CCP had to rethink it's decision. Imagine, that if today they came out and said "Dust will be staying on consoles". I'm sure they would lose at least some EVE players. So,they're currently bracing for that. I'd say that's the real reason. And that may be the real controversy rattati was talking about. If they reaffirmed the decision to port to PC then all the hardcore console players would quit faster, taking their AUR purchases with them. CCP isn't telling us "Oh yeah... we have no plans to port to PS4..." because they know it would effect their bottom line in the short term. And Rattati said it would ** people off. I noticed yesterday that Rattati suddenly had a revival on twitter, going through old posts and favoriting them, most likely pointing to his absence due to heavy workload, and that he is now done with whatever he was working on, allowing him to catch up on the things he missed on social media. It's not like when they announced Legion that the huge exodus of players went to EvE nor did we gain a bunch of players.

They are trying to do something but the last time they made a big sweeping announcement without having everything cleared up, people were understandably upset. Better to say nothing until it is a done deal. (IE, they are working with Sony to have Legion on both PS4 and PC on the same servers and don't want to say "we want to do this" in case it never happens) In regards to Rouge Wedding, the upset is much more how unbelievably botched the announcement was rather than anything else. If the "DUST 514" keynote was 30 minutes longer, included a "what this means is you will keep all Aurum, SP, corporations, and character names" as well as some "what will be happening in the mean time?", most of the outrage would have never happened. Rouge thought the round table was going to be put on Twitch so all the "answers to your questions" never got to most of the people. Of course, the fact that the DUST 514 keynote was about an entire separate product and the fact that it was announced at FanFest were also massive blunders; CCP really shat the bed there. I disagree with the idea that saying "we are never going to PC" would cause them to lose EVE players. That would be like Blizzard losing World of Warcraft subscribers because they didn't port Hearthstone to iOS; they are separate products and people would not be playing EVE if they were solely interested in Legion one day. As for being pessimistic, I could completely see them being completely quiet in regards to "DUST will not be moving to a different system" or "DUST support is ending" in order to continue to sell Aurum. People will not be willing to spend anything if the game is just going to be dead. Hell, I still say that them stating "everything will transfer" and then not changing their tune for 18 months amounts to false advertising if they do suddenly say "nothing is happening" as people have bought Aurum based on that previous 'promise.' Where did Rattati say "controversy"? I keep seeing that referenced and yet have not actually seen it. Could someone kindly link me the source? "This is B.S! This is B.S! I paid money! I'm not an EvE player, or a "PC master race" type of guy (I play both on consoles and PC), but even I can tell that the game would benefit MASSIVELY from a port to a platform that isn't extremely limiting in processing resources. It would allow the devs to do all that stuff they couldn't do on the Ps3 because of hardware limitations. Honestly, it's a damn shame. I want to like this game again, I really do. The buggy/jerky controls and lackluster graphics (combined with the lag and bugs) just prevent me from doing so. scout//assault//heavy
