Dear Devs,
If you're out there please fix the match making system. Problems I see with the system every day.... * Uneven teams: More than half the matches start with one team with something like 10 vs 15. These matches quickly devolve to 3-6 vs 15. * Zero add's during a match: One of the reasons most of the matches end up 3-6 vs. 15 is the game doesn't add players. That means a team that starts down 5 will at best face 2 to 1 odds the entire match. * Zero safe ground from Proto-stomping: As is being out numbered 2-5 to 1 isn't bad enough, almost every match where this imbalance happens the team that's still full(ish) is Proto-stomping the hell out of the other team. Even Eve has "safe-ish" zones. Use the system security level to restrict suit meta level and give players an option to stay in "safe(ish)" zones. 'm not asking for the entire game to be neutered. Eve is not a fair universe and no zone should be entirely safe. But restricting the meta level to some extent using the system security level would provide some minimal relief
There's zero point to me staying in a match where my team is outmatched 2 to 1 in the first two minuets. In 80-90% of the matches that happens the ratio is closer to 4 to 1 within the first 5/6 min.
For the last two months I put up with it, hoping things would even out. They haven't, so now I find myself constantly watching the match balance. If the match is more than two minuets in and it's obvious my team is going to loose I leave. Because I know I'll be leaving more than half of the matches I join I run cheap-o fits for during the first part of the match. That of course means I don't perform as well, my team doesn't perform as well, and other players on my team are more likely to leave the match (presuming they haven't left the game entirely).
Presuming you're indifferent to players frustration at being on completely lopsided conflicts it should be pointed out that the current system is costing you money. All the players leaving matches means less kills. Less kills means fewer AUR purchase to replace lost equipment. Players who know they're likely to be facing 2-5 vs 1 odds aren't likely to play using AUR fits. Why bother when every cent spent is thrown away?
As frustrating as I find this game I really do enjoy it, and will be saddened when it dies. |

As already pointed out you skipped almost every point I made and focused all of your attention on one small section. Let me be very clear...
I'm not asking for a ban on Proto gear in pubs. I'm looking for a way to fix the problem in pubs.
Number 1 on the list is the match making system starting matching with one team at a distinct disadvantage. Number 2 on the list is the lack of players added to the match after the first 1-2 min have passed. Number 3 on the list is pointing out that players will not stay in a match when they're severely outnumbered and facing pure Protos. This is the only place I had any real suggestion, because the first two are an issue with the match making algorithm. As I don't have access to their code I don't have much to say about them.
The section of my post regarding Proto gear was a request to split the pubs by giving players a selector that allows for the selection of game-play in safe(ish) space. Preferably the zones would be controlled by a suit meta level that prevents full Proto. IE, you're running an advanced suit with proto weapons, but that puts your suit at close to max meta meaning you can't stack on 8 complex mods.
Possible zones would be secure space (most restrictive, limits meta of suits to high teens), mid level would be for advanced fits (probably high 20's maybe low 30's) and unsafe (no hold's bar, stomp all day).
