Why can't anyone tell us what is going on?
Not even a #Soon.
I know you are all still lurking. You ninja-mod threads and posts. We notice... (#FreeJadek). So what's up??
Are you working on an update or what? Are you really working so hard that you can't be bothered to make one little post? Or is reality much darker than that? Is company policy preventing you all from telling us how dark things really are?? The community is plagued by these questions. These questions that besiege us in life are a testament of our helplessness. We don't want to live in this world of darkness.
You know.. Eventually people are going to stop asking these questions. Without a response, you will force people to draw their own conclusions. I think I am starting to draw my own but I won't go into detail here. *puts on tinfoil hat* I will just watch how things play out for now.

Its getting way out of control! How does a company run like this? People want to play a game and spend money, if its working right and know one wants to say anything? I just don't get it.
But yet if I throw out a very bitter post someone is johnny on the spot to delete it on the forum, somone is sure as hell moderating this site. So what gives?

My guess: The future of CCP is VR, not Dust. CCP needed to raise $30 million for its VR venture, so for a few months they were told to cut costs and raise revenue. In Dust this meant we hot some updates and some new ways to spend money. CCP got their $30 million, released Valkyrie and now there is absolutely no motive for them to do anything for Dust. Their employees were given gag orders and they will let Dust just wither away, no announcement, no drama, just let it die. There will be no port, people playing a F2P on an old console is not their new target market, they will not compete with themselves.
I am sad about this but it makes sense. I have put about $100 into this game and played well over 1000 hours. This is one of the best entertainment investments I have made, so no hard feelings, its been fun.

Any company has many incentives to make money after projects have been executed.
Predominantly to make more money!
Something will happen, whether good or not. I doubt CCP have realised they have alienated nearly everyone in the process of making this next decision.

No, he's saying that a business is CHOOSING to make MORE money from new technology than to try to continue making money with the old technology. It's a corporate choice. Be thankful they're keeping it going at all. They probably considered shutting it down immediately. |

I'm saying "do the math", a few thousand people paying a few dollars each does not pay for more than minimum maintenance and they don't fear alienating the Dust community, we are not there future target market.
Because, that's why.
