Yes this would require dropping of the Eve links which is a very sad thing.
CCP is obviously more interested in other projects and if they were to do this more as a licensing agreement while keeping say over final project they could free up a lot of resources and cash for their other projects.
Given what some of us have spent on this game I almost think the community could fund a studio taking it over in the crowd sourcing agreement of all time.

Man EA butchered the new SWBF. it sucks. Old ones were WAYYYYY more fun. I hate the new one. Playing as Obi Wan on SWBF2 and "Slow Walking" past force chokers was a lot of fun. My Grievous was unmatched. Only worthless scrubs used "force pullers". Cheapest force skill there is. 2X force pull=you're fuked.
It's weird, on PS2 (PLAYSTATION 2) double pulling, or pulling in general was frowned upon, often banned. Force Choke, -Infinite Force Choke/Lightning=no once cared .
On PC, it's the opposite. Force Choke is frowned upon, pulling is accepted??!!!?!? Kind of cheap nonsense is this?
