Your points make some sense, however the issue of squads was NEVER a problem in the past. I'm sorry, but I don't play Dust to play solo, I play it to play with friends. I'm not serious enough to play in PC's and I don't always feel like waiting forever just to play FW.
Yes something needs to be done for pub matches, but the removal of squads is not the solution. What people don't realize is that by removing squads, how are you going to know that someone on your team needs help? Don't say "by using team chat" because lets be serious, a good majority of people are usually voiced in various channels anyway. Ambush should be squadless, not Dom/Aqui/Skirm because you actually need to have some semblance of unity (even if just between 4 people) to accomplish anything.
The old way of matchmaking (while it had its flaws) was nowhere near as terrible as our current problem. Scotty has 0 fucks to give about how he's filling matches and aside from that, CCP obviously has both the old and new matcher working. The old one runs more on the Asian prime time, and the new one runs more on the UK and USA prime times.
The leaving of battles is absurd, and yes it absolutely does 100% more harm than good. All it does is make people frustrated and dislike playing the game. At the same token, the way to fix any or all of the issues with Dust is by making it on a new engine for some other platform because YES PS3 can't handle this game. The fact I had to get a freaking SSD to reduce lag and actually make the game playable speaks for itself. I won't even go into all the issues with performance due to outdated hardware. From there, the issue stands of needing more of a playerbase. I don't care what anyone says to oppose that, the fact of the matter is that people prefer different game modes and different styles of playing. The only way to accommodate to everyone is having a larger playerbase so that there is more variety. I play against and with the same people every day. It doesn't even matter when I go weeks not playing; I come back and there they all are again.
I read a thread last week and someone had mentioned that sandbox games have many different flavors of players. Just because one person thinks their idea is the best idea, doesn't mean that everyone has to conform to that ideology. You think Dust is better off if there are no squads? Maybe CCP should add a squadless mode. I think it's better off with squads. We just have different opinions on the matter, as I'm sure everyone else does too.
The problem with Dust is that there are too many problems to fix, and you can only fix those problems by fixing them one by one. That would take a lot of time and manpower as well as horsepower to do.

That's something that's not a norm so your adding another feature that gives some a distinct advantage over the majority that doesn't .
I'm not trying to take away your " friends " since that's the common response , it's to make the game more balanced and fair for all , not most or a select few that run in squads and have the experience and mic's to even communicate .
I just don't see how you people can't see this and be more then willing to overlook your own desires for the betterment of the game ?
Bring back the warbarge and incorporate necessary measures that will even matches out and kill the " ready made squad advantage " because your still not doing that in it's current condition and it's not happening when people put their " friends " over the state and sake of the game .
Make new friends , are you telling me that all of your " friends " came into this game at the same time and you haven't had a chance to meet anyone new ?
Promote team before squad . There are few people who say that don't have mic's and actually don't have one. Not having a mic is a BS excuse in today's world. We aren't living in earlier times when they were just so unheard of. Some people just don't like to talk so they will say they don't have a mic, when they really do.
I've made many different friends since I've been playing Dust, I met most of my friends that I play PS4 with on Dust as a matter of fact. I don't always run with the exact same people. I change it up when I can.
To use the no mic/not wanting to use a mic arguement could be a huge debate. You say teamwork is important. People can listen and take direction; that's easy to do. I've squadded/played PC with people who don't use mic and they do perfectly fine if they are focused on the team aspect. But who is to say that they are even going to voice in a team chat. I know I don't want to listen to some little kids bickering at each other when the going gets rough or if you half half the team voiced somewhere else.
As I had stated earlier, squads were never an issue in the past, so I don't see where the recent (past few month) influx of complaints for it has come from. The only ones who have an issue with squads are people who like to play solo, which is why there should be a separate game mode for those people. Majority should not have to be subjected to playing how they don't want to play just to please the few that prefer the solo lifestyle, you know?
