How would everyone feel about CCP buying a few cans of virtual Rustoleum and spray painting the current vehicles gold and copper?
Then they could super impose the effect and mechanics of a large laser rifle firing for the Amarr HAV, and add in the effect of a large Mass Driver for the Minmatar HAV. Each with their respective infantry weapon's sound effects. With the bass boosted and sound slowed down, of course.
I know there are many people that want to have the actual vehicles, but there are a lot of things we have wanted that we never got. So, why not do with what we have?
Who is up for a shiny, golden Gallente HAV with an inclination for burning the heretics and a dull, copper Caldari HAV with an explosive nature?
CCP Rattati said he'd try that last year. Even showed us pictures of what they'd look like.
X months later..... nothing.

Even showed us pictures of what they'd look like. X months later..... nothing. I wonder if the memory problems are deeper than we have been led to believe. Hardly. More like HAVs are still messed up and Rattati doesn't want to invest the time to developing the stats for Minmatar and Amarr HAVs....especially after the **** slinging fiasco that was the HAV rework months ago.
Agreed especially because I told him then if he wasn't careful HAV would return to exactly the same place they were before the rework... which they have.
Shield HAV are still pretty much superior to armor in most circumstances for exactly the reasons I pointed out last year and the best fits are still passive double shield hardeners for most AI circumstances.... and not I have 700-800 more shields that before and can still ignore most forgeguns, AV grenades, and swarm launchers. Kubo's are about the only thing that actually gets me moving.
That coupled with often times crippling performance issues means that even if I want to target infantry I cannot any more.... and I'm not that bad a shot (picking off infantry at 150m in Chromo and used to be able to get head shots regularly even with the dispersion).

I run both but primarily what I find is the best at the given time.
Chromo-Uprising = Armour Uprising 1.7 = Shields Warlords Post Tank Rebalancing = Armour After Most Recent Changes = Shields
Basically we're back to where we we're before Rattati put forward the changes to shield tank in that time I was explaining to him that Shield HAV we're somewhat breaking AV intended design by literally having massive EHP and being able to ignore all explosive and kinetic forms of AV.
Now we have Shield HAV with more Shield than ever before with base 6135 double 40% hardeners and the natural 20% explosive and 10% kinetic resistance values.
However I stand by Mobius. Tanking hasn't been fun for a while, it doesn't look to be any time soon, and I just reinstalled Warthunder Ground Forces to look into the Black Prince and Tiger 1. I'd love to armour tank again but with such low armour values on most armour HAV and Armour Repairs being a passive aspect of game-play I just feel that Shield is the better platform for most turrets, fitting space, and more important manoeuvrability and targeting with the exception of the games flawed lack of Shield HAV barrel depression.

"No credit for partial answers." We don't eyeball it serviceman chung! XDXDXD
Gunnery Chief: This, recruits, is a 20-kilo ferrous slug. Feel the weight. Every five seconds, the main gun of an Everest-class dreadnought accelerates one to 1.3 percent of light speed. It impacts with the force of a 38-kilotomb bomb. That is three times the yield of the city buster dropped on Hiroshima back on Earth. That means Sir Isaac Newton is the deadliest son-of-a-***** in space. Now! Serviceman Burnside! What is Newton's First Law?
First Recruit: Sir! A object in motion stays in motion, sir!
Gunnery Chief: No credit for partial answers, maggot!
First Recruit: Sir! Unless acted on by an outside force, sir!
Gunnery Chief: Damn straight! I dare to assume you ignorant jackasses know that space is empty. Once you fire this husk of metal, it keeps going till it hits something. That can be a ship, or the planet behind that ship. It might go off into deep space and hit somebody else in ten thousand years. If you pull the trigger on this, you're ruining someone's day, somewhere and sometime. That is why you check your damn targets! That is why you wait for the computer to give you a damn firing solution! That is why, Serviceman Chung, we do not "eyeball it!" This is a weapon of mass destruction. You are not a cowboy shooting from the hip!
Second Recruit: Sir, yes sir!

I'll agree that HAV combat is largely boring at the moment...tank battles are more often then not just alpha-strikes (either through modded railguns or ramming), and other than fighting other HAVs...there's not much for an HAV to do: Suppress Infantry, Distraction, Intel Box?
The only concern I face as a Gunlogi Pilot is a Blaster Maddy with an Ion Cannon very occasionally catching me unaware but beyond that I can manoeuvre better than a Madrugar pilot on rough terrain. In HAV AT combat I usually have the edge simply by having access to more EHP, a damage module, and the bonuses conferred by the two primarily anti armour AT Large Turrets.
Considering the potential threats on the maps in terms of AV weapons I only have to fear 3 in total. The Kubo's Plasma Cannon and both the Neutron and Ion Cannon. Anything else I am advantaged against.
Couple that with the flexibility of fitting options in being able to have both fitting modules and a five slot shield tank or damage modded/heat sinked HAV means gives me the best bang for my ISK. When ran Armour HAV in the same meta only a few weeks before I was utter subject to the deprivations of swarm launchers, close quarters AV grenade spam, and Officer Tier Forge Guns.
If 180mm plates made a return I could see my way to Armour Tanking again but....
Survivability vs Most AV Threats ...... goes to Shield HAV Fitting Flexibility...... goes to Shield HAV Turret Advantages...... goes to Shield HAV
Reliable and Frankly Simple Operation with Blaster..... goes to Armour HAV with lower EHP but much more Constant Passive Repair.
