Would be nice if you could pick up weapons and or ammo from dead players. But limit it to weapons you've learned only to prevent say a scout from grabbing a HMG and zipping around the map spamming rounds at everyone.
That or have it like the ships kinda are now. e.g. if you steal a drop ship or tank and you don't have vehicle command for it, it is hard to drive correctly. |

Greetings,

Not needed and would add too much complexity to the code. No, the way it is works perfectly and is another good mechanism for engendering teamwork. Additionally it makes sense that mercs would try to keep their weapons ammo out of their enemy's hands by putting IFF style markers in them.

If... you take RED ammo. This is no use for red (no dmg). Instead you can shot own mates. |

I agree to an extent, but if this is the case, then they should add armor upgrades to the nano hives and links. Couple of times I've been defending an objective with my team and the enemy has destroyed all the supply depots; leaving several people asking over voice for nano hives. But when you only carry two and they are easily destroyed by someones frag, makes it super hard to help keep your team supplied. Ya know?
As far as I know you can only carry two at a time also. I wasn't able to max out nano stuff before the wipe, so maybe you can carry more if you max it out, anyone know? |

Still no...
If you lazy enough that you think that enemy bring you ammo - you are dead here already. If you defend that point without ammo -you do it wrong.
Regrup. Plan ahead. Break lines and go take another strategical point.
Dont sit in one place like duck.
I plenty times go around without ammo... and I take it. Still better that use another clone. |

A logistics suit can carry up to three sets of nanohives, a scount and Assault can carry up to two sets. The advanced sets provide three hives while the prototype and standards only provide two. So it is possible for an assault or scout to provide up to 6 hives while a logistic suit could provide up to nine. Most I have needed to deployed per death so far has been three, though I tend to die fairly regularly. |

actually they should .. have a chance to at least. just like eve . if you kill someone theres a chance they might drop some nice mods .. well why not have a chance to drop their nice guns? maybe even take them back to spawn/supply for putting away for later use.. this is supposed to be an extension of eve right? wheres the loots?! |

A looting/salvage system is on the roadmap. We might see it later in the beta. |

It's fine as it is imo, if you need ammo drop a nanohive or go to a supply depot |

That I agree with, just like in EVE, to the victor the spoils, but in EVE you generally cannot immediately use what you loot. You need to go to a station / POS and re-fit the item, and many times even repair it before you can use it. If they do what the OP was requesting, I can see far too many ways that can be exploited...

Currently, the equipment belonging to a merc is incinerated with his corpse, so there is no room for salvage unless it is quick, and maybe limited to modules. Also, due to the varying CPU and Powergrid needs, not to mention Heavy Weapons slots, picking up a dropped gun and immediately using it could shoot your fit full of more holes than a beta Swarm Launcher. |

the proto lets you carry 1 more over the regular. also the advanced lets you repair your armor too..
Your idea is not that bad, but I think the game is better this way.. reason.. is that it provides the logistics into a game that don't exists. if you had too many supply depots, then ammo conservation is not going to be an issue, this way, when you're shooting at the enemy, you don't just spray and pray, but have to keep in mind that you don't have unlimited ammo.. (many times I've been stuck defending objectives and having run out of ammo forcing me to leave the objective. if I could just get the ammo off the dead enemy I could have just camped that 24/7) |

I agree and already posted that I am surprised there is no loot system yet like Eve. |
