Your friendly neighborhood insane guy here, coming at you with an important announcement.
I am much like a cockroach, yes, I have been told that, it is hard to kill me buddy. but that is not why I am here, I am a good boy now, now shuddup.
I have an idea, a dream if you will; a dream of blazing through the cosmos at supersonic speed, becoming the fastest turd known to man. But, we are stuck here, on these dusty old planets, with nothing better to do than kill each other like gladiators fighting for a woman, but we all are women, to each other. Ever get bored of killing the same old douche? Well, I have an answer!
The Firebolt League! (*Name still in discussion) Many People have tried this, I know.
Based primarily in the unofficial port of EVE: DUST514 - EVE: Phoenix. "The League," as it is called as of this moment because it does not have an official name, is a premier Dropship and LAV racing event set in New Eden. The general idea I have is to bring the high octane thrill of speed to the bloodthirsty mercenaries of DUST.
Inspired by the Interstellar Racing Championship (ISRC) in EVE Online, and the Sparrow Racing League in Destiny. The League is a race of trials and gauntlets. My idea, is this: A cluster of races, trials, gauntlets, reminiscent of Mario Kart Double Dash; a driver/pilot and a gunner. The Dropship races will take to the skies! As the pilot maneuvers around the spires, constructs and so and so, the gunner(s) will be trying to take out the opposition. Where on the ground, the juggernauts of metal; the LAVS reave through the terrain as the gunner on the back try to demolish the opposer.
It is still in discussion, but of course there will be prizes, what sort of race doesn't have prizes? A PRETTY CRAPPY RACE THAT IS WHAT KIND. Entree will be 1 million I$K each, racer and gunner, and the winners split the pot, with 1st place getting something extra. 12 racers in the LAV races, and possibly 12 for the Dropship races I don't know yet. Maybe suggest something instead of sitting there on your hands.
I was going to wait, until a port *dies laughing and then sobs hysterically* because this sort of idea, while still doable, is hard as hell to do in the current iteration of DUST 514, Which is why so many people have failed. But, there needs to be initiative from the player base in this dark moment of silence. Screw those little events made by Blaze and the like, I am your beloved douche, the loudmouth merc known as VAHZZ.
This is still in the idea phase, y'know? It is a hard thing to accomplish. BUT WHEN HAVE I EVER BEEN ABOUT THE EASY? |
